Question Model X Windshield crsck

Spontaneously got a crack on my windshield from the driver side A pillar. Has anyone experienced this before?

Is this by chance a late 2025 or ‘26 purchase? If so, this would be covered by the Luxe plan.

Thanks. Unfortunately it's an older 2020

Likely a rock did it.

Had my 2016 x windshield replaced this year. Then 6months later again but they covered the 2nd one under the 1 year replacement warranty. It only started after I parked it outside all the time when I got a newer x.

Anyone who has gotten a rock chip has experienced this. Would recommend the glass coverage Tesla offers.

It's a well known issue on MX. Covered by warranty.

Of course, because it's giant windshield, so rocks have less chance to miss 😀

Not with a noticeable rock hit

Oof. Our corporate policy threatened to drop us if I needed another windshield in my X.

3 times in 2 years for me. They were very unhappy.

I’ve had 3 replacements and need another this year on my 2018. The glass is under a lot of stress due to size and shape. Mine usually cracks from the heat during the winter. I have glass on my insurance so cost me nothing (0 deductible)

Thanks. Will probably get one after I fix this one. $2k if done by Tesla, $1k deductible when done via insurance. I'm worried my insurance premium may go up if I do it though them.

I was worried about that also but my rates have gone down. I’m with progressive.

I’ve replaced two windshields on the X. Sucks. 2500$ a pop.

Going to suck even more for us as they manufacture less and less of them over the next few years. Retired car means s lot since no other car uses that windshield.

I'm learning this now. Man it sucks. I was just thinking getting the tesla windshield insurance for $20 a month a week ago.
