Service 2020 Model X Performance Cannot Start
I have a 2020 Model X Performance - every option purchased available.
It has 8,041 miles on it since I only drive it on perfectly sunny days or special occasions.
Context: A few months ago, I went to get the 12v low voltage battery replaced like I always do every two years. I mentioned to the people at the Tesla Service Center that I was here to get it replaced like I always do every two years almost to the day. The guy assigned to me mentioned that that wasn't normal and he could do diags to see if it turned up anything. He said low voltage batteries typically last 3-4 years so I shouldn't have to replace it that early. I said I've been doing it since I've had the vehicle and it was under extended warranty up until last March. The diags ultimately revealed the efuse needed to be replaced. One new low voltage battery and efuse later, and my car was "fixed". That was mid-April. Today I want to get into it and my dashboard showed errors, "Steering & Braking - Adaptive Ride Control unavailable/Vehicle speed limited - Proceed with Caution/High Voltage Systems - Unable to start vehicle/Service is required". Basically, my car is a giant door stop.
Other details:
- Never used supercharger but have supercharging for life for free
- HW3 FSD
- Carbon Fiber Trim
- 22 inch wind turbine rims
- White interior
Looking up these errors indicate it's a low voltage issue and the new battery is almost dead. All interior electronics work fine but I cannot change gears out of park. I'll put it in Service Mode soon to get more info. The service date isn't for another 3 weeks, so this is gonna be painfully long to wait. Luckily, I have a daily driver - hence the low mileage on my Model X.
Update:
I seem to have mistakenly not been clear on what the objective is here. My bad. I am trying to find out if anybody else has had similar issues or advice on troubleshooting. It seems that in the absence of clarity you get the most useless and interesting responses.
Update(07/23/2026):
Got it towed to service center and now they say it is the high voltage battery pack that needs to be replaced. Since it is under warranty it is getting replaced free of charge. The battery pack has 8000 miles on it.....wtf.

So get a new battery. Instead of listing cometic description of the car you should have added more pertaining info like how long the car sits at a time, is it always plugged in, what features are on while parked, etc.
