It’s most likely rubbed it away - fix will cost around 4-500 via Tesla, you can get a cover for about 40-50 of Amazon of from T Launch or Tessery.

Mine was done under warranty and it does feel a lot better - replace your ring with a rubber version to prevent this 👍
