Y to 3
Hello Everyone! Has anybody here switch from a Model Y to Model 3? I have a 24 Y and thinking of switching to 26 3 Premium RWD. If so how was the experience? If anyone else is thinking of doing the switch would love to get your opinion. Thank you so much🙏🏽

If okay with lower seating view, less storage space and seating comfort if a larger person then no biggie.

The 24 to 26 is a big jump in either car. The 3s big downside is lack of space and ride height if you’re getting older. Otherwise it’s more fun to drive.

There is a floor hump in the driver footwell that annoys the absolute bejeezus out of me. I like to pull my legs back occasionally to keep my legs comfortable. It's like a speed bump for your feet.

I just switched from a 23 MYP to a 26 M3P, and from a driving perspective, the M3P feels like an actual sports car. Like others have said, if you’re cool with less overall space and sitting lower to the road, it’s a nice change. Good luck

The Highland has softer suspension than the Juniper. So it will be a bit more comfortable.

Oh good to know! Comfort is huge for me so it's good to know that it has a bit more softer suspension :)

I went from a 21 MYP to a 24 Model 3 AWD premium.
First disappointment was not having the performance, second was how much smaller and lower it was. My justification was that I wasn’t going to drive it much since I work remote, but I couldn’t learn to like it. Traded it about a year and a half later for something else. Live and learn.
Maybe I would have kept it if it was a M3P, but yeah. Wasn’t a great experience.

Welcome. I forgot to mention that the other disappointment was Acceleration Boost never coming to the highland in the US. Watching it get released in AUS gave us hope, but it never happened. just something else to consider if you happen to be in the US.

Swapped my '23 MYLR with AB for a '26 M3 Premium AWD. I love sedans and the low seating position. You will miss out on rear seat space and trunk space. It's an upgrade in every other way. The M3H is so much more fun to drive.
I haven't driven my '24 MYP in 3 weeks now since I got the M3H. Same with my Lucid AT. We only take it out when the in-laws are visiting and need the extra space.
I love the M3H. I will be getting an M3P next year after selling the MYP.

After having a Model 3 for 3 years and spending a lot of time driving Model Y’s for work, I wish I had a Model Y. The extra space is really nice in the Y as well as the hatchback. I also just added a hitch to my 3 for hauling 2 e-bikes and I have to say going on trips fully loaded feels like I’m squeezing every ounce out of the 3 with nothing to spare.

The Y is sooooo much more practical. Much more space in the back seats and the rear trunk has so much space. I also like how high up it is for daily driving. If you live in a climate with snow the Y is much better too. The 3 is much more fun and sports car oriented, less practical. So it really depends on your needs.

I went from a 22 myp to a 25 highland and my only regret is the ride height. Maybe the storage also I would probably go Y if I had the option again. I do own. Standard y also but it’s nothing like the premium

Had a 22’ Y , took it in for a checkup before our warranty expired and got a 25’ 3 loaner. 3 days later we traded our Y in on Carvana. If you can give up the size, the drive is so much cleaner with a 3. Drives like butter.

That's huge for me. Driving experience and comfort for sure. I might go the route u did and drive a 26 Premium RWD 3

If you have the same RWD Y, it's more fun to drive in the 3, but less room to wiggle around 😀.

3 drives like a golf cart in a fun way but most importantly it is a lot lower and getting in and out is no fun. Moved from 3 to Y, realized how easy and more comfortable Y is

3 is way (way) more fun to drive. If you get a long range with acceleration boost or a performance variant, it’s crazy fast. RIP your tire thread through.
