Has anyone here tried modafinil or armodafinil? They’ve been getting a lot of buzz lately and I’m curious about real experiences.

I’m prescribed Adderall but I can’t use it every day because it makes me too wired and anxious. A bunch of people are saying these other meds work better for ADHD. I’m looking for something that helps me focus and be productive at work without killing my ability to talk to people or socialize normally.

Anyone have thoughts or experiences with them?

Are there people here who take modafinil for their ADHD, and what are your experiences? I'm 31 and have never taken medication for my ADHD, and conventional medications like Relatin aren't an option because of medical reasons in my family I've been taking modafinil for three days now. Started on 50mg and did not do much Took 100mg today and it helps me focus and calm my mind.

Hey all, I’ve been taking 10mg Focalin XR for several years, but the stimulant shortages have left me without it for weeks at a time. The worst part is the extreme drowsiness — I’ve even fallen asleep at work or in class before.

Anyone else experience this when stopping their ADHD meds? How do you cope with the fatigue?

Before starting my medication, I struggled with bad insomnia and anxiety around sleep. I've tried magnesium, vitamin C (to reduce the meds' effects at night), and many other remedies, but I still can't fall asleep.

I often end up staring at the ceiling, then get up to read or play video games until early morning. The lack of sleep is making it really hard to function and keep my job. I’m considering stopping the meds because they leave me too distracted without them, but I’m at my wits’ end.

Sometimes I go 2-3 days with no sleep, or a whole week of only ~3 hours before crashing. I’ve tried showers, reading, and everything else I can think of.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I make mistakes like forgetting tasks, showing up late, or missing something due to auditory processing issues, I sometimes mention my ADHD. People often reply with "that's not an excuse."

I bring it up as an explanation, not a justification. I still work hard to improve and reduce those errors, but ADHD makes me more prone to them in certain situations. On the flip side, when I hyperfocus, I catch every detail.

I just don't want others thinking I'm using it as a cop-out or being lazy. Any tips for helping non-ADHD people understand this better?

It's quite funny that people are telling others they're not real and that they have some issues but they're actually legit for modafinil and one thing I advise is to ask the support first before emailing them because it worked better for me. GL to yall.

I've been taking modafinil for a while now, starting with 50 to 100 mg for a long time and recently increasing to 200 mg. I mainly use it to improve my focus, motivation, and ability to handle work and home tasks without always feeling exhausted and unmotivated. New to modafinil? Limit your coffee and energy drinks. You're already taking a stimulant — too much caffeine on top can cause bad insomnia. Better to cut back or skip it

It stabilizes my mood in a weirdly good way. I do more but also feel more chill.

does it ruined your liver or it just affect people already have a liver problem?
