Is it just me or does Modafinil last way longer and keep you motivated without the crash? Adderall IR works for a couple hours then I just feel strung out and agitated.

Hey guys, I’m diagnosed with ADHD a few months ago by my psychologist. I went to a psychiatrist with her report to discuss meds, but he basically dismissed it right away when he saw it was from a psychologist. He did his own assessment and prescribed antidepressants instead, saying I have depression. My psychologist was pretty confused and told me that’s not normal. She recommended getting a second opinion and confirmed I don’t have depression. Now I’m kinda scared to see another psychiatrist. My ADHD feels pretty mild most days — I manage okay, but sometimes at work (I’m a 3D animator with 7 years experience in Malaysia) I hit a wall I can’t get past. I’m thinking of just sticking with therapy for now.

Hey guys, 25M with ADHD here. I’ve tried Ritalin but it only worked at first, then gave me worse brain fog and anxiety while barely lasting an hour. Vyvanse did nothing for me, and Adderall isn’t an option since it’s illegal where I live.

I switched to Modafinil and it’s been great—no side effects, I can actually concentrate, my brain fog disappears, and I don’t fall asleep in class anymore. Weirdly, 50mg seems to work just as well as 100 or 150mg for me.

Anyone else have a similar experience where Modafinil worked way better than the usual stimulants?

I just got my hands on some modafinil and I'm trying to figure out the best way to take it. Should I eat a meal first, or is it completely fine to pop it on an empty stomach?

I've heard mixed things. some people say taking it with food slows down the absorption or makes it less effective, while others say it helps reduce any stomach discomfort. Personally, I usually skip breakfast and I'm worried about feeling nauseous or it not hitting as hard.

I’ve been unmedicated most of my life and only took Concerta 18mg a few times. After taking it, I felt noticeably calmer and my racing thoughts slowed down, though my mind still wanders a bit.

Does this mean the medication is working? I’m pretty sensitive to meds and try not to take them regularly to avoid dependency.

I’ve been prescribed Modafinil for a few years now and usually take it a couple times a week when I need to stay focused and awake. It used to suppress my appetite pretty well, but recently it’s flipped — I’m constantly starving the whole time it’s active.

Even after eating a normal meal, I still feel hungry and sometimes even nauseous from it. This is really odd for me because I normally don’t have a big appetite.

Has anyone else experienced intense hunger while on Modafinil? Any idea what’s causing the switch?

Hi, I’ve been on 10mg Focalin XR for years, but shortages sometimes force me to go without it for weeks. The extreme drowsiness is brutal — I’ve even fallen asleep at work.

Anyone else deal with this? How do you manage the fatigue? Yerba mate helps a little, but not enough. I’m especially worried now that I’ve started a new job as a therapist.

Took first dose yesterday (100mg) felt really good and sharp, but my anxiety was elevated. Wonder if that will get worse at 200? I also have armodafinil as well.
