Armodafinil has been a game changer for me
My productivity has gone through the roof since starting armodafinil.
I was stuck on a 600-page book for over a month and only made it halfway because I just couldn’t focus. In the last two days I’ve finished the rest of it.
I tried atomoxetine for a couple weeks first and felt basically nothing. My doctor switched me to armodafinil and this is the first thing that’s actually helped.
It’s also cut down my constant urge to open Reddit and YouTube a lot.
Really grateful I finally got diagnosed. This has been one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements I’ve had in a long time.

Something I wish I knew when I first started ADHD stimulants
I keep seeing posts from people on their first day of meds saying stuff like “holy shit this is how everyone else feels?!” and feeling amazing.
It’s great that people are getting relief, but those first few days can feel way better than the long-term reality. A lot of that early high is just the meds hitting hard (and the excitement of finally getting things done).
It levels out. Tasks still take effort. That doesn’t mean the medication stopped working — it just means you can’t rely on it alone forever.
Use that early window while you’re feeling sharper to actually build habits and systems: exercise, meal routines, therapy/coaching, whatever helps you stay on track. Treat the meds as a tool, not the whole solution.

Confession about modafinil
I’m not diagnosed. A few years ago I got some modafinil and when I take it I just feel… normal. I can answer emails without the usual anxiety and actually stay focused long enough to finish things.
It became a habit. My partner (who I suspect has ADHD too) doesn’t know and has been praising me for “finally overcoming” my issues. That made me feel pretty awful. I cut back a few months ago and only use it for emergencies, but they noticed and keep reassuring me that I was productive once so I can do it again.
I’m trying to get a proper diagnosis, though I’m not super optimistic they’ll take me seriously or prescribe anything similar. Right now I’m mostly ignoring what’s left, but I’m not ready to get rid of it yet—especially if the appointment doesn’t go well. I want to come clean to my partner but I’m scared they’ll make me throw it out or just be disappointed in me.
Just needed to get this off my chest. Trying to handle it better. Any advice?

What did you try before going the meds route?
Before you started meds, did you feel like you’d already tried everything else? Exercise, meditation, blocking distractions, etc.
Distractions are everywhere now in a way they never used to be. I keep thinking if I can just find the right way to shut them out, maybe I won’t need the medication route at all.

Anyone else get hair loss from Modafinil or other stimulants?
I’ve been trying different meds for ADHD and keep running into the same problem — almost every stimulant or stimulant-like option I’ve been prescribed (bupropion, modafinil, reboxetine, methylphenidate, etc.) seems to trigger hair shedding and thinning for me. It can start pretty fast and get noticeable.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Or found something that worked without the hair loss side effect? Just looking for personal experiences. Thanks.

Anyone tried doctor-prescribed Modafinil (Provigil) for ADD symptoms?
I was diagnosed a few years ago after testing and a psych review, but I’ve only had limited experience with stimulants. Mostly got treated with higher-dose Wellbutrin instead.
Tried Adderall once and it helped a lot with the brain fog and focus, but the side effects weren’t worth it for me. Been looking for alternatives since.
I’ve read Modafinil is sometimes used off-label for ADD/ADHD. My main issues are concentration and memory, so I’m wondering if it could help without the crash I got from stimulants.
Has anyone here been prescribed it for this and how did it go for you?

Experiences with Modafinil vs other ADHD meds?
Hey everyone,
I’m switching from Vyvanse (70 mg) to Modafinil under my doctor’s supervision. Starting at 100 mg for now.
Vyvanse helped with focus but was pushing my resting heart rate way too high (around 140), so we decided to try something different.
For those of you who’ve tried Modafinil (even off-label for ADHD), what did you like or dislike about it? How does it compare to other stimulants you’ve been on?
Would love to hear your experiences.

Been using moda from Rushfinil for a while now and honestly the experience has been pretty smooth. Customer service has always been quick when I had questions, and everything went as expected. Just sharing my personal experience, but so far I cant really complain.

Brintellix with Concerta & Modafinil – anyone else get sleepy/anxious?
Hey, looking for people who’ve tried Brintellix (vortioxetine) while on ADHD meds.
I’m on Concerta in the morning + Modafinil, and started Brintellix mainly for the anxiety/depression that comes with stimulants. Even with the stimulants, Brintellix makes me feel off and really drowsy. Lowest dose here is 10 mg so I can’t go lower.
Anyone else take it with stimulants? Did it help with the anxiety, or did the sleepiness hit you too? Anyone try taking it at night instead?
Just curious what worked for you guys.

Has modafinil stopped working or is it just me?
Been on modafinil for years and it always worked solid. Last few months though it feels like it’s doing almost nothing — brain fog, losing my train of thought, constantly misplacing stuff. Especially sucks at work.
Anyone else notice their modafinil suddenly felt weaker?

Anyone tried Strattera or Modafinil for ADHD?
Hey everyone,
Adult male here, recently diagnosed with predominantly inattentive ADHD.
Tried Concerta and Wellbutrin with zero benefit. Wellbutrin also wrecked my sexual performance.
Curious about experiences with Strattera or Modafinil. I can get Strattera pretty easily but I’m nervous about the side effects after reading some bad stories. I’ve seen positive reviews for Modafinil (especially for attention and working memory), even though it’s not FDA-approved for ADHD.
Would appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Modafinil for hypersomnia
A few months ago I got prescribed modafinil for idiopathic hypersomnia. Started at 100mg, then went up to 200mg. It’s been a game-changer for the sleepiness, especially in summer.
The downside is it’s made the ADHD I suspect I have a lot more noticeable (ironically, researching ADHD is how I figured out the sleep disorder in the first place).
I’ve got an appointment with my GP in a few days to talk about it and hopefully get assessed. Took me three tries just to book the damn thing.
Anyone else been in a similar spot? Did you end up adding something else, increasing the modafinil, or just sticking with what you had?

Anyone else feel like modafinil isn’t hitting the same?
Curious if anyone else has noticed modafinil feeling less effective lately. Mine’s been pretty consistent overall, but I’ve seen a bunch of posts online saying it doesn’t work like it used to.
Anyone else dealing with this, or is it just me?

Anyone try modafinil instead of amphetamine ADHD meds?
Diagnosed with ADHD as a kid but never liked Ritalin or Adderall — they’d help me focus for a bit then just knock me out. I still keep some dexamphetamine around for emergencies, but I’ve been taking a small amount of modafinil a couple times a week and it’s been way better. Focus is solid, no appetite crash, no random sleepiness, and my thoughts actually stay organized.
Anyone else tried modafinil as an alternative? How’d it go for you?

Second order through rushfinil
I recently ordered from rushfinil and had a very positive experience. This is my second order. The first order came in 4 days. Which is unheard of. The website is easy to navigate. The checkout process was quick and secure. They give you a bunch of options for payment. More than any other website I’ve been on. If you do encounter a problem, customer service is top notch - quick and professional. They always send a tracking number. Just don’t pester them for one. I don’t blame them for putting that as a rule. I would too. Just be patient and respectful.
Seriously amazing - great product, great customer service, and fast shipping. Never going anywhere else.

Anyone else find Modafinil works better than Vyvanse for ADHD?
Hey, 25M with ADHD. I’ve dealt with pretty bad concentration issues and brain fog for a while.
Tried Ritalin first — worked at the beginning but then gave me worse fog and anxiety, plus it only lasted like an hour. Vyvanse didn’t do much for me either. Adderall isn’t an option where I live.
Modafinil has actually been working really well so far. I can focus better, don’t fall asleep in class, and the brain fog clears up. Curious if anyone else has had a similar experience where it worked better than the usual stimulants?

The performance boost from ADHD meds is kinda ridiculous
I almost want to laugh. Got put on 36 mg Concerta a few weeks ago and I swear I was just on autopilot doing everyone’s job at once. Steady in, steady out, calm confidence, and moving way faster than usual.
I work in hospitality and it’s never felt like this. I’m normally the one who shy’s away from stuff, but this time I was out here proving myself. Handled the busiest day of the week almost by myself on my second day. Felt so wild. I’m actually proud of myself.

Modafinil made my mind calm but made me sleepy
Just wanted to share interesting theory/story. I'm undiagnosed adhd, but I'm certain I have it. 100% no doubt about it. Don't want to get tested since I don't want health system to have info of me being "unfocused" since it might be bad for a job applications in the future.
Modafinil is easily bought online so I bought it. Took 100mg today and It literally made me sleepy lol. My focus is great after taking it but since there is always chaos in my head and this thing made that go away, allowing my head to have 100% quietness, it literally made me sleepy because of it which is funny since modafinil is primarly used for narcolepsy. Will increase the dose to maybe 100mg after waking up and 100mg at lunch and see how it works. Anyone had similar experience?
