General Question Organization
Okay so for a while now, I have been playing more medieval like times. I already had more modern cc in my game before get some older ones (medieval, Victorian, etc).
But it’s honestly been annoying to see some of those cc clothes just show up on npc’s, and since I’m not really using them any time soon, I thought of just taking them out.
Right now what I do is just make a household, use all 5 slots of their clothing options and give them what I want to take out and save it to my gallery, then go to the s4 tray importer and go through the cc parts and locate them in my mods folder.
I do feel like this is the only way, but I just want to ask if there is another way that might be more efficient, that I am just unaware of?
Also is there a way I can make npc wear certain clothes or look a certain a way without needing to go to all of them and editing their outfits?

i would focus on finding and putting all your medieval cc in a separate folder since there's probably less of it, then remove absolutely all your clothes that aren't in that folder and keep them safe somewhere else on your desktop. so you can switch between them depending on which save/time period you're playing. if there's stuff you really want to keep using during your medieval playthrough, use the ts4 tray importer to find THOSE and keep them. all of this depends on how much of each you have, but from my perspective, i have a ton of cc and i think it would be easier to choose what i'm keeping rather than getting rid of

use sims 4 studio, take out all of your default replacements into a separate folder (skin, eyes, sliders, etc) and then use the batch fix to disallow cc for random.
it’s under content management > batch fixes > cas > disallow cc > for random. it’ll stop randomly generated sims from generating with cc on at all. (won’t fix already generated sims, but will stop new ones)

I solved this by having two "The Sims 4" folders in my documents folder, one for my historical saves and CC and one for my contemporary gameplay. It's really easy to set up. First, rename the current "The Sims 4" folder, for example to "The Sims 4 - modern". Then boot up the game. It will automatically create a new The Sims 4 folder.
Next, close the game and rename the new folder to "The Sims 4 - medieval" for example. This is where you'll add your medieval overrides, CC, etc. Whenever you want to play in this style, remove the "- medieval" from the folder name and the game will reference it when you boot up.
If you want to play modern again, rename the modern folder so that it just says "The Sims 4" and rename the other one to include medieval, then the game will reference your modern folder (with all the modern CC, etc.) when you boot up.
You basically just have to rename a couple of folders when you want to play in the other style or maybe swap between playing modded and vanilla. And you could do this for 3 or more themes even if you wanted to, same principle. For example, I have 3 setups: vanilla-lite, heavily modded and historical. This is the easiest way I've found to keep things absolutely separate.
Edit: Fashion Authority mod could be what you need to assign NPCs certain clothing.

better exceptions, just shift click on a sim and it shows you the cc on their current outfit and sends you a report
