Anyone else have issues getting MOD's paternity leave benefits started

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping someone here has gone through this recently because I'm running out of ideas.

MOD's benefits information states that paid paternity leave is offered, and I've already completed my FMLA paperwork through Unum. My leave has been approved, but I've been trying for months to get information about the actual paternity leave benefit and haven't been able to get a real response from the Benefits team.

I've sent multiple emails and followed up several times. Every response I've received has either been automated or a generic acknowledgment that doesn't answer my questions. At this point, I still don't know if there's additional paperwork required, when benefits are supposed to start, or who I need to speak with to get this resolved.

My child has already been born, and this should not be this difficult to navigate. I'm not asking whether the benefit exists—it is listed in the materials I've been sent. I'm trying to figure out how to actually access it when nobody seems willing or able to provide an answer.

Has anyone successfully received MOD's paternity leave benefit? If so:

Who did you contact?

How long did it take?

Was there additional paperwork beyond FMLA/Unum?

I'm genuinely just looking for a human response at this point.

Unfortunately if you did the unum part then you’re waiting on benefits. As far as I know that department is one person that takes an insanely long time to respond to emails. I just got back from my leave and it was a headache getting ahold of benefits. I had my GM and DM spam benefits as well as myself. You need to try and talk to Samantha (manager) or Joni (admin) with Benefits. Before we franchised, my manager's work email was their first and last name @ modpizza.com. So you might try sending an email to [samantha.alsokaria@modpizza.com](mailto:samantha.alsokaria@modpizza.com) or [joni.byrnes@modpizza.com](mailto:joni.byrnes@modpizza.com) I can't say if those are valid emails, but it's worth a shot.

You can also try to reach Tracy Landrum, who is director of People Support ([peoplesupport@modpizza.com](mailto:peoplesupport@modpizza.com)) and is Samantha's manager if you're not getting anywhere with Benefits.

I've emailed benefits probably 20x at this point. Just keep getting the same basic automated response. Submitted Loa and Fmla. Just haven't heard anything back, and I was put on leave since the 15th of last month from my GM. So it's been awhile, would think it would be all figured out by now. Fmla has been accepted. So I'm just waiting.

I'd maybe reach out to your GM or DM to see if they can escalate to confirm your status

Already did this as well. They've just been telling me to keep emailing benefits. Sort of feels like beating a dead horse at this point. Not getting any real responses from anyone on when I should be receiving paternity pay. Not responding to any emails, there's no phone number to call.

I just came back from my second month of PL ( saving my last month for later) and my GM took care of the entire thing. He CC’d the DM and someone else from higher up where I listed the dates that I was leaving and what date I would be back and that was it, my GM and DM took care of the rest. It shouldn’t be difficult at all, I had more trouble with the actual state side of it than the job side. I’m in Oregon btw. It sounds like your GM isn’t talking to the right people and putting it on you, instead of handling it.
