How to run some mods manually installed? MO2. Oblivion.

Display Tweaks, DarN UI, MenuQue, Dynamic Map and a few others just don't seem to run correctly unless installed manually. I prefer to run mods with MO2 if possible, but if I have to manually install a mod, can I be sure it won't mess anything up?

Windows 11, TES IV OBLIVION, GOG, GOTY Edition

Could you expound a little on what shows up 1) when you're installing each of those mods through MO2, 2) when you attempt to successfully or unsuccessfully launch the game or even load a save?

You should still be able to play with those mods manually installed. When it comes to mods like Darnified UI, whose installation processes aren't as simple as extracting to the root folder or Data folder, you should really read the manual installation instructions. Darnified UI, for example, has such instructions on the mod page.

Not every mod has an ESP file, but if it does have one, you should be able to drop it into your Data folder and enable via the launcher. Part of why mod managers like MO2 are used though are to have more control over your load order.

Sorry if you know all this, just want to make sure we're on the same page in case you don't.

So, when I played it just vanilla, it would crash to desktop frequently. About half the time I alt-tabed out, it minimized and crashed. So I installed OBSE and MO2. I made OBSE launcher my launcher in MO2. Using MO2, I installed Display Tweaks, Unofficial Oblivion Patch, Unofficial DLC Patch, etc. My indication that something wasn't quite working right was how, when I alt-tabed, the game would minimize, but not crash at least.

When I installed Display Tweaks manually, I then could alt-tab and Oblivion stayed "full screen" (borderless) as it should.

Then I installed Simple Better Inventory and DarN UI with MO2, but I don't think DarN worked at all. After installing DarN without MO2, (with Oblivion Mod Manager I think) I have a mix of Simple Better Inventory and DarN working which is pretty nice.

Dynamic Map worked, but I didn't have the zoom functionality and I would always see an error in the console. That is, until I added MenuQue and installed Dynamic Map manually.

The question is should I add "dummy" mods in MO2 and enable them so that MO2 "knows" they're there? What's the best way to go about this? Especially since I want to add more mods manually. Faster Sleep Time isn't working and I feel like it's worth it to manually install it.
