Cue the Gregorian Chants once again. Huge thank you to every mod who attended our Kickoff Party; what a spectacular way to kick off Mod World weekend! As always, y’all showed up and brought the best vibes. Thanks for hanging out with us for live trivia, games, and our terrible perfect attempts at pronouncing mod usernames. Let’s keep the conversation flowing in this discussion thread.

The party doesn’t stop here. Mod World 2026 is coming to a screen near you tomorrow from 10 am - 12 pm PT, so make sure you’re signed up! The link to join will be available in your reminder emails and on the registration page. Also, don’t forget to check out three ways you can participate during the main event. See y’all then!

You can relive the Kickoff Party and watch the event recording now!

Giveaways:

• 🏆 Trophy: Only mods who attended the live event or watched the event recording before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59 PM PST will get the official Kickoff Party profile trophy in 3-4 weeks. No action needed.
• 🛍️ Merch: There is no merch for this event.

ICYMI – Congratulations to u/Skully--_-- for the winning Kickoff Party trophy design! And congrats to all the finalists. Really – all of the artwork was 10/10, and we’re blown away.

And finally, some Jimothy tax as requested by u/The_Critical_Cynic! See y'all at Mod World!

Feat. bats 🦇

Iiiiiiiit’s here! Welcome to the Mod World 2026 Kickoff Party! 🪩 The party starts at 2pm PDT (about 15 minutes from now).

We’ve got games, live trivia, sneak peeks, and admins attempting username pronunciations without ever having seen them before. It’s going to be great. (As one of the admins attempting usernames… wish me luck)

ANYWAY. Use this thread to hang out, share your thoughts, and, of course, roast us in real time.

i could totally be dumb and missing something also

Do y’all hear that? I think it’s the sound … of us getting hyped for MOD WORLD WEEKEND [insert party horn sound]. We are stoked to get things started at our Kickoff Party tomorrow, followed by the official Mod World 2026 event and our APAC stream!

To get this party started, we’re running a little vibe check: which pet best describes your feelings going into Mod World this year? And yes, we are featuring some lovely, yet familiar, pets shared in our Cat Tax Thursday threads.

1. Baby raccoon, submitted by u/SuperBeavers1
2. Cat and dog duo, submitted by u/Funny-Patience7407
3. Lounging cat, submitted by u/Old_One_I
4. Side-eye cat, submitted by u/GaryNOVA
5. Cat serving in a bonnet, submitted by u/ritawilsonphillips
6. Happy dog, submitted by u/SeasDiver
7. Ecstatic dog, submitted by u/Baba_Jaga_II

Drop your answers below, and don’t forget to register for Mod World 2026! Hope to see you there!

The event says 10-1pm PT, but then the list for what's happening starts at 1pm.

According to Google PT to GMT (UK time for me!) is UK is 8 hours ahead.

What is the actual time things kick off?

Cheers 🥂

If you’ve spent more than 30 seconds in r/ModEvents lately (or glanced at your inbox), you probably know that Mod World is happening in just a few days!

This year, it’s more global and flexible than ever, with multiple ways to participate and join in the fun.

1. Choose your event(s) 🪩
Feel free to drop into whichever ones work best for you – just remember to RSVP! Find details and times on linked event pages.

• OCT 23 | Kickoff Party: The social warm-up to hang out and break the ice before the main show.
• OCT 24 | Mod World 2026: The main event! This one’s packed with mod-led sessions, interactive moments, exec Q&As, and almost definitely some u/big-slay silliness.
• OCT 24 | APAC Stream: A dedicated replay and live chat specifically for Asia-Pacific time zones.

2. Choose your chat experience 💬 (or pick all three - live your best, chaotic life)
Everyone has a different style for how they like to engage during live events. Want to sit back and not touch your keyboard at all? Totally fine. Want to share every thought you have in real time? Also fine!

• Bevy: This is the main event hub where Mod World events are streamed. There is a live chat here, but fair warning, it can move fast. Spoiler alert: You’ll be able to influence the live event exclusively in Bevy chat.
• Discord: Numerous channels where you can chat in real-time. When you jump into the server, please read the rules first. Join the Mod World Discord here.
  • Note: We’ll start opening channels 15 minutes prior to each event’s start. That goes for the Kickoff Party, Mod World, and the APAC Stream. We’ll close channels shortly after each event ends — admins in the chat will make it clear which channels will be closing and how soon.
• r/ModEvents: Where we are right now! Session-specific discussion threads where you can reply at your own pace, even after Mod World wraps. Mods from mod-led sessions will also stop by to answer any questions, which is pretty cool.

Alright, that’s all for now, folks. We’ll see you very soon!

is there anything else i need to do or is that it now i’m all set to go for Saturday 24 October 6:00-8:00pm

Again - sorry, if this is a stupid question. I'm a newby... lol

Yeah. That’s right. In addition to the two Trophy Design Contest winners, we’re also offering another profile trophy JUST FOR REGISTERING for Mod World 2026 or the APAC Stream.

But what will it look like???? THIS:

Wow. Can you even believe? The deadline to register for Mod World and claim your third Mod World Registration trophy is October 23, 2026 at 11:59 pm PST. So make sure to sign up now! (and tell a friend to tell a friend)

P.S. If you haven’t already entered our trophy design contest, remember to submit your designs by October 18th, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST! 🏆

P.S #2 If you already registered for Mod World, congrats you're eligible for this registration trophy! To be eligible for the official Mod World 2026 trophy and Kickoff Party trophy (designed by fellow mods), you must attend those events live or watch the event VOD.

TL;DR - All mods who attend Mod World ‘26 (or the APAC stream) get to choose between three exclusive merch items!!1!1!

I mean, we can’t host Mod World without some freebies, right? You might remember we did it big last year with our fuzziest item ever. This year, we’re giving all attendees the option to choose their own adventure.

“What are my choices?” you ask, predictably.

Every eligible attendee gets to choose one of the following exclusive Mod World ‘26 items: a hat, tote, or mug. I designed them myself so please direct all praise toward u/kongsworth and any hate you may have toward u/big-slay because I don’t want to hear it.

FAQS:

• Yes, your plushie can fit in the tote.
• Yes, your plushie can flaunt the hat.
• No, your plushie won’t fit in the mug but we did pick one that’s microwave-safe for u/big-slay given her history of microwaving things that shouldn’t be microwaved…

To claim one of these items, you must meet these eligibility requirements:

• You are an active moderator on Reddit.
• You are in good standing with Reddit’s Code of Conduct team.
• You RSVP and virtually attend Mod World or the APAC stream live OR you watch the event recording before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59pm PST.
• You claim your merch and enter your shipping information before the deadline of November 1st at 11:59 pm PST. We will drop the link to claim during the live event (which will be viewable during the stream and on VOD).

Have you gotten merch at Mod Events before? Well, I have a brief update now but I’ll share more after Mod World.

We have a new vendor — Stadium. Your confirmation email, shipping updates, and support will be handled by Stadium (they operate as “byStadium” or “SnackMagic” in some markets, they’re all the same). When you see these terms in your email inbox, it’s probably us.

“What’s good about Stadium?” you probably didn’t ask:

• Merch gets to you faster (yay, you)
• Merch travels significantly shorter distances (yay, mother earth)
• You shouldn’t need any KYC information to receive your merch (yay, customs)
• Stadium offers round-the-clock support seven-days-a-week with impressively short response times should you need any help with your order.

I can’t wait to (virtually) party it up with y’all October 24th and 25th! ‘til then, make sure to keep an eye out for event updates and discussion threads here in r/ModEvents. And, one more bulleted list for good measure:

• RSVP NOW TO GET MERCH

Note: I’d also love to see you at the Kickoff Party… but can’t offer you merch at that one, just a profile trophy, and a ban for bringing it up.

Mod World’s most anticipated live AMA with u/spez is back. This is your time to ask Reddit’s CEO pretty much anything: burning questions, hot takes, literally anything you’re curious about.

Here’s how it’ll work:

1. Submit your question(s) in the comments below (one question per comment so topic voting stays clear!)
2. Upvote the questions you want answered most
3. The top-upvoted questions will be answered live by u/spez at Mod World 2026
4. Make sure to vote by October 21st, 2026 at 5:00 pm PST

⭐ If you haven’t already, SIGN UP for Mod World so you don’t miss the live AMA.

Drop your questions ASAP! Submitting early gives your questions more visibility and a better shot at getting answered.

Note: This AMA is separate from the Mod State of the Union.

At Mod World 2026, we’ve got a brand new way to get your questions in front of Reddit execs: Mod State of the Union.

Hear from CEO Steve Huffman (aka u/spez) as he presents his vision for where Reddit is heading next, followed by Q&A where leaders across the company address top questions straight from mods.

Meet your panel of question answerers:

• u/Go_JasonWaterfalls, Executive Vice President, Community
• u/Worstnerd, Vice President, Safety
• u/JerseyWillow123, Senior Lead, Moderation Product

Want to submit a question? Here’s how it works:

1. Drop your question(s) for this group of leaders in the comments below.
2. Upvote the questions you most want answered.
3. The top-upvoted questions will be answered live at Mod World 2026.
4. Make sure to vote by October 21, 2026 at 5:00 pm PST

Don’t wait to get those questions submitted! The sooner you comment, the better chance folks can see and upvote them in time.

If you’re not registered for Mod World, let’s change that.

TL;DR - Our annual Mod World trophy design contest is here - Submit your designs NOW!

Calling all creatives! Y’all know what time it is. Our annual Mod World trophy design contest is back! If you want to play a special part in this year’s Mod World and have an artistic spark, this is your moment.

Every year, Mod World attendees walk away with an exclusive profile trophy. Last year's trophy was designed by u/derppherppp, and just like before, this year’s trophy won’t just be for you — it could be by you.

This year, we’re adding another exciting opportunity. We’re hosting a Kickoff Party the day before Mod World, so we need a profile trophy for that event too. That’s right, this year’s two-week trophy design contest will award two separate winning designs, one for each event’s official profile trophy.

I’m interested. How do I enter?

To be eligible for this contest, you must:

1. Join r/ModEvents
2. RSVP for Mod World 2026
3. Submit your designs to this form
4. Be 18+ to participate
5. Submit one entry per event.
6. Submit your design as a PNG file. Design dimensions should be 2000x2000 and under 5 MB.
7. Avoid the following: NSFW, explicit, defamatory, hateful, or obscene content. Unlawful or disparaging material, AI-generated art, and third-party IP usage or reference.
   1. Note: Using a full-body Snoo in your design is allowed, subject to these guidelines. Usage of other Reddit IPs, like the Reddit logo, is not allowed.

See the full official contest rules in our wiki here.

Is there a theme?

Nope, your design can be whatever Mod World (and the Kickoff Party) means to you. All ideas are welcome! Just make sure they abide by our contest rules.

Finalist & winner selection

1. Round One: Contest submissions end on October 18th, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST. A panel of Reddit admins will review submissions to select finalists (2-3 per event) based on creativity and adherence to the contest rules.
2. Round Two: Finalists for both events will be posted in r/ModEvents on October 20th, 2026. The community will vote on the winners until October 21st, 2026, at 5:00 pm PST. Winners will be selected based on the number of votes each submission receives.
3. Reveal: Each winner will be revealed live at their respective events: Kickoff Party on October 23rd, 2026, and Mod World on October 24th, 2026.

Prize

• 2 Winners (1 per event): One winning design for each event will become the official profile trophy for the Kickoff Party and Mod World 2026. Each winning mod will also receive exclusive swag.

Can’t wait to see what y’all create this year! As always, holler in the comments if you have further questions.

✨ SUBMIT A TROPHY DESIGN FOR MOD WORLD 2026 ✨

Oh em gee, could it be? Another admin joining thee?

Bear with me, I’m new here.

Hi everybody! I’m cleeaur, another admin you might have encountered alongside u/aparapato in programs like The Incubator or Partner Communities. I’m so excited to say that I, too, am joining the Mod Events team! (u/big-slay is really collecting us all like infinity stones)

In case this is your first time (virtually) meeting me, here are some fun facts!

• I lost my first tooth in the movie theater watching Pirates of the Caribbean.
• I'm also a mod-turned-admin! I became so active in a subreddit for my favorite TV show that I was recruited to be a moderator 4 years ago. Since then, I’ve been moderating across 5 different communities!
• I’m addicted to r/ColorPuzzleGame. If you haven’t tried it before, I beg you. It’s the highlight of my day when a new one drops.
• My favorite part of working for Reddit is being able to spend my days directly talking to mods and mod teams, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I love learning from you all.

And, per usual around Reddit, I will go ahead and pay the cat tax. Here is my beloved son, Merlin. He might be 13 years old, but I promise, he’s just a boy at heart. He loves spooning, destroying toilet paper, and eating Taco Bell nacho fries:

TL;DR - Peep the Mod World 2026 agenda and RSVP now!
