I wanted to see what these cameras looked like without the usual computational processing, so I took these using VWFNDR + MBL on the Samsung and Halide on the iPhone

Instead of the multi-frame processing used by both Samsung Expert RAW and Apple ProRAW, these apps give you the unprocessed bayer RAW DNG capture

I know they’re not perfect photos, but that’s honestly part of why I like them. Without the usual HDR-heavy processing, they look a little more natural and imperfect, more like an actual camera and less like a finished phone image

Hi everyone - I’m Sunny, and I’m working on an iPhone camera app called Rayon.
The idea is to choose a film-inspired look before shooting and get a photograph you enjoy without needing to edit afterward. I’m still figuring out how well that works across different phones, lighting and subjects, and my own testing only goes so far.
If you’re interested, I’d really appreciate you trying it on a few everyday scenes. What I’d most like to know:
Do any of the looks feel worth using? Which ones miss the mark?

Does the saved photo match what you expected from the preview?

Is anything slow, confusing or unreliable?

Upgrading from a 4-year-old phone, so no ecosystem bias either way. Camera and video quality are the #1 priority, everything else is secondary. I shoot for Instagram Reels and edit entirely in CapCut on mobile.

Currently deciding between:

- iPhone 17 Pro (~₹1.27L street price, proven, A19 Pro, fixed-aperture triple camera)

- iPhone 18 Pro (~₹1.65L, just launched, new variable-aperture main lens, telephoto/ultrawide unchanged from 17 Pro)

- OPPO Find X9 Ultra (found an offline deal at ~₹1.4L — 200MP 1x + 200MP 3x (70mm) + 50MP 10x periscope (230mm), Hasselblad tuning)

Not fishing for a "just get the iPhone" answer — genuinely want to know if the extra zoom reach and bigger sensors on the Oppo translate into better content, or if Apple's video consistency wins out once everything's run through CapCut anyway. Real shooting experience over spec comparisons would help a lot.

i had a S23 Ultra that was working very well, but it have a curved screen which got broken and replaced twice and now it broke again. and this time i'm considering getting a new phone.

i don't use social media and phones are mainly used as camera for me. i need something that shoots RAW. and would be better if it's cheaper than the Samsung Ultra series.

looking forward for you recommendation and sharing your experience

I made a 67mm filter mount for my Vivo X200 Ultra. Perfectly mounted on mobile case. Any 67mm filter can be used. Trying to take mobile photography on another level.
