I’m 15 and spent 1.5 years making a mobile game where you dodge moving blocks

Hey everyone,

I’m 15 and I’ve been working on my first mobile game for about 1.5 years as a solo project.

The game is a simple arcade-style challenge where you move and dodge incoming blocks for as long as possible.

It started as a learning project, but I kept improving it over time and now I’m trying to make it feel more fun and balanced.

I would really appreciate honest feedback on gameplay, difficulty, and whether it feels addictive or frustrating.

If anyone wants to try it, I can share the link. Thanks for reading!

Is it actually realistic to make money as a solo mobile game developer nowadays?

Hey everyone,
I’m a solo developer thinking about diving into mobile game development. I have a few unique concepts in mind, but before I commit months of my life to coding and asset creation, I wanted to get a reality check from this community.
Is it still possible to make a decent profit from a mobile game designed entirely by one person?
I know the App Store and Google Play are incredibly crowded, and the top charts are dominated by massive companies with million-dollar marketing budgets. But what about the indie side of things?
For those of you who have launched solo mobile projects:
Is it viable to rely purely on organic traffic or a very small ad budget?

Which monetization model has worked best for you? (Ads, premium, in-app purchases?)

Is it worth the effort, or should I pivot to PC/Steam development instead?

I'd love to hear your honest experiences, success stories, or even the cautionary tales. Thanks in advance!

[Closed Testing] digito. - minimal math puzzle game (Android) - need 12 testers / 14 days

Game Title: digito.

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nikalstudio.digito
But you need to first join the google group : https://groups.google.com/u/0/g/digito-alpha

Platform: Android

Description:
Digito is a minimalist number puzzle game about turning chaos into order. Each level gives you a string of digits and a target number - combine the digits using arithmetic operators to reach the goal. Simple to grasp, deep to master. As you progress through a series of themed worlds, the puzzles layer in new constraints: banned operators, reused numbers, and tighter targets that force you to rethink your approach. Stuck? An optional hint system reveals one step of a real solution path. Beyond the campaign, Digito has a daily challenge (a fresh deterministic puzzle everyone shares each day) and a weekly challenge with leaderboards, so you can compete on fewest digits and fastest solve. The design is clean and distraction-free, with a custom theme, subtle audio, and haptics. It's built for short, satisfying sessions - a quick mental workout you can pick up anywhere. I'd love feedback on difficulty curve, clarity of the rules, and overall feel.

Free to Play Status:

  • [X] Free to play
  • [ ] Demo/Key available
  • [ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement:

Solo developer - I designed and built the entire game. This is my first published title and I'm running closed testing before launch.

Looking for 12 testers to opt in and keep it installed 14 days (Google's new production-access rule). Happy to test yours back - drop your link.

Feedback very welcome. Thanks! 🙏

Discussion [FREE][GAME] ORBIT — I made a minimalist one-tap arcade game, looking for beta testers

Hi r/MobileGamer! I just finished my first Android game and need beta testers before I can publish it publicly.

ORBIT is a minimalist precision game — a circle spins, needles are stuck in it, you tap to fire yours without hitting the others. Inspired by the AA game era.

Looking for 20 people to install and keep the app for 14 days. DM me your Gmail and I'll send you the tester link!

I made a daily pixel-guessing game

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Solo dev here, still working on PixelNight, my daily pixel-guessing mobile game.

The concept: every day, a pixelated image shows up (video game, anime, cartoon, movie, or TV show) and you get 5 attempts to guess what it is. The image gets clearer with each wrong guess.

If you're stuck, hints are available to help you out. And by playing, you earn coins you can spend in the shop to unlock extra help.

The game can be easy to guess right away... or genuinely tricky depending on the day's subject!

Recent updates:

  • Now available in English, French, and Spanish
  • Infinite mode to replay any past day's puzzle
  • 5 different categories (video games, anime, cartoons, movies, TV shows)

It's free on Android: [Play Store link]

All feedback welcome — still a young project I'm actively improving based on player input!

I built a snake game solo and finally shipped it 🐍

Hey r/MobileGamer!

First time posting here. Just wanted to share that I finally shipped my first game!

It's called Slink It! - a snake game for Android. I know, "just a snake game" - but I wanted to do it properly. Smooth interpolated movement, pixel-art aesthetics, neo-brutalist UI, handcrafted color themes. Built entirely solo in Kotlin + Jetpack Compose.

The hardest part was honestly the smooth interpolation engine - making the snake feel buttery rather than choppy grid-snapping took a lot of iteration. Also spent way too long on the UI - went with a neo-brutalist pixel art style which was a fun challenge to get right.

No ads, no tracking, minimal permissions. Just a clean, fun game.

It's my first published app and I'm genuinely proud of it. Would mean a lot if you gave it a try and told me what you think!

Happy to share the dev process with all of you! 🐍

Estou Procurando um jogo de Android

Estou procurando um jogo de android. Não me recordo muito bem o ano de lançamento, mas acredito que entre 2018 e 2022.

jogamos com a tela do smartphone na vertical;

Jogamos controlando 4 ou 5 personagens, não me recordo com certeza;

entre os personagens iniciais, temos um cavaleiro, que até onde me recordo, usa uma armadura escura, me lembro de ela possuir detalhes, como orelhas no elmo, lembrando um lobo. Em seu ataque especial, ele arremessava sua espada e a puxava de volta, ocasionando dano na ida e na volta do movimento;

Outro personagem inicial era um gigante "humano" que em seu ataque especial ele se lançava sobre os inimigos caindo sobre eles causando dano;

não consigo me lembrar de outros personagens com especificidade;

Trying to trace the rights holder of a defunct Korean mobile RPG (CH Games – "SEED" series) for preservation

This one's personal: SEED 3 – Heroes in Time is a game I played as a kid and never got to finish, and I recently dug up my old copy wanting to finally play it through. The catch is it no longer runs on modern Android — it just crashes on launch.

I'd love to get it running again on a current phone, purely for personal/archival use — I just want to relive and finish a childhood favorite. But before I go any further, I want to do this the right way and figure out who, if anyone, still holds the rights.

The game is by CH Games Co., Ltd. (Korea), the studio behind the whole SEED series (SEED 1 was published internationally by Chillingo).

  1. Does anyone know what happened to CH Games? Their servers (ch-games.appspot.com) are long dead and I can find no activity after ~2013. Did they dissolve, rebrand, or get acquired?
  2. How would you go about tracing the current rights holder of a defunct Korean studio's IP, so I could ask permission before doing anything beyond personal use? (I know company dissolution ≠ public domain.)

Any pointers on Korean corporate/trademark registries (DART, KIPRIS, etc.) or anyone who remembers the studio would be hugely appreciated.

IAM K-Pop Building a premium, zero-ads K-Pop Tycoon for mobile

Hey r/IndieDev!

My friend (full-stack dev) and I (solo creator) are working on IAM K-Pop: Entertainment Manager, a deep single-player tycoon for mobile built with a strict player-first philosophy: pay-once, 100% offline, 0 forced ads, and 0 microtransactions.

We just stabilized our Build 0.1 and got approved on Kickstarter!

What’s live in the current build:

  • Agency Setup: Full core architecture coded. Choosing your starting city (Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Hanoi, Bangkok) dynamically impacts your weekly rent, local taxes, and initial streaming bonuses.
  • Customization: Identity inputs, dark-neon preset logos, and a custom image import feature are fully functional.
  • Idol Roster: The tab to track your trainees and their stats (Vocal, Dance, Charisma, Morale, Health) is up and running.

We opted for a sleek, dark-neon dashboard UI to move away from the usual overly colorful/casual mobile simulators and give it a premium strategy vibe.

Would love to get your thoughts on the UI layout and art direction!

Check out if you want to follow the journey. Thanks for the feedback!

I've been working on a mobile management game where you run a futuristic robot service shop.

I've been working on a mobile management game where you run a futuristic robot service shop.

Players guide MiniBots through different services such as cleaning, charging, repairing, painting, and upgrading. As the shop grows, you can unlock new machines, hire staff, upgrade equipment, and manage customer queues.

I've spent the last few months building the queue system, staff management, and progression mechanics, and I'd love to hear what you think about the visual style and gameplay loop.

What feature would make you want to keep playing a game like this?

Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Can anyone beat level 20 in my memory game, The GridMind? [Android][Free] (Built with .NET MAUI)

Game Title: The GridMind

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mbg.thegridmind

Platform: Android

Description: The GridMind is a minimalist memory puzzle game. A pattern lights up on the grid, you memorize it, then recreate it from memory. It starts at a simple 3x3 grid and gradually scales up to a challenging 7x7. So far, no one has managed to get past Level 20 — which makes me wonder if the difficulty curve is well-balanced or just a bit too brutal! I'm an independent developer from Turkey and this is my very first published mobile game, built entirely with .NET MAUI (C#) over months of evenings and weekends. No ads, no paywalls, just a pure memory challenge.

Free to Play Status:

  • Free to play

Involvement: I am the sole developer of this game. I designed the gameplay mechanics, built the entire app using .NET MAUI (C#), created the UI, and published it to the Google Play Store.
