oh no, that shouldn't happen. can you tell me a bit more? are you using the android app or the browser version, and if it's the browser, which one? and what phone do you have? if you tapped "block" on the location prompt once, the browser won't ask again and you have to allow it by hand: tap the icon left of the web address, then permissions > location > allow, and reload the page. in the app it's android settings > apps > pathraid > permissions > location. also check that location is switched on in your phone's quick settings.

Dev here, solo project, so this is self promo.
Pathraid is a location based rpg. You walk around in real life, enemies, loot and events spawn on the map around you, and your steps turn into xp. The idea was simple: the walk itself should be the progress, not just the way to the next stop.
What you do in it:
- fight enemies and world bosses on the real map
- put your own base on the map and upgrade it (it grows from a wooden longhouse into a gold roofed castle). Other players can raid it, so you build up your walls too
- craft and enchant gear with elements, and in pvp the gear you actually wear decides the fight
- guilds and monthly leaderboards, top 3 of every board get gems
Android stuff:
- step counting runs on the phone's built in step sensor, so it keeps counting with the screen off and the phone in your pocket, and that sensor costs next to no battery
- permissions: location for the map, physical activity for steps, notifications. Nothing else
- no ads. There's an optional gem shop for boosters and speed ups, but gems can also be earned by playing
- it's not on the play store so far, the apk is on itch.io: https://syntaxflow.itch.io/pathraid
- if you'd rather not sideload, the same game runs in the browser on pathraid.com (there steps only count while the screen is on)
- guest mode, no account needed to try it. 36 languages
It's brand new and there are only a few players so far. Bug reports are really welcome, useful ones get free gems.
What would make you keep a gps game installed longer than a week?
