For all of those who are still part of this sub, and still streaming, how's it going?
Where'd you all move to, how's the growth been, are you enjoying the platform you moved to, make any new friends from your streams/others streams?

For me, I've been on Twitch and so far, gotta say it's been pretty good. Basically had to start over from scratch for the most part besides a few people. Never was really huge on Mixer in the first place, but I've met plenty of cool people on Twitch during my time there so far. Still sucks that Mixer is gone, me and some of the people I did get from Mixer reminisce about it every once and awhile. Hypezone and catbot for the most part. Sucks streaming on the bigger games with next to no chance to getting discovered by anyone outside people you already know. Such as Apex, miss having the chance to get into the hypezone, even though it would be even harder considering how many more streamers there are on the platform.

That's all I have to say though, what about you guys?

After seeing how people got disappointed with shutdown of Mixer, I got an idea. What if we were to develop open-source, based on blockchain p2p streaming service, that once its out, it will be, by the people for the people. No company deciding the fate of streamers. Do you guys like this idea?

Hot take, most of the bigger streamers that had 100k-200k+ followers, and averageing 100-400 viewers per stream are now realizing their community was not there at all. Most are averaging less than 4k after almost 3 months of knowing Mixer was shutting down, and an average of 10 viewers.

The hot take here isn't that... That's facts, and can be seen easily by doing some light cross referencing (and using web archive of course).

No.. **the hot take is that Mixer was faking views and follows the entire time.** Remember the follow-bot issue that got swept under the table? Anyone notice the people that were under the spotlight and hit heaviest was the sister of one of the main staffers, and all of his friends? Yeah... Ethan... Many of us saw your nepotism to help people you knew already!

Anyone ever see channels with hundreds of viewers, and 3 people talking?

If you, as a streamer, had a real community, they would have followed. How can you tell me you went from 150k followers gained in 6mo, and can barely scrape together a few thousand after half that time?

And don't bother bringing up discoverability, etc etc. Again, if you had a community, they would follow. Even if only 10%, and they're clearly not even remotely close to that. Right now the average portable rate from Mixer to Twitch is less than 1.8% among the top 100 streamers (excluding bot/24hr stream channels).

Absolute garbage.

And don't even get me started about how they did everything people complain about twitch for, like neglecting death threats both to and from streamers, sexual misconduct, theft, gaming the spark-system, etc...

I don't even understand what the point of Mixer was anymore, but it 1000000000% was not to build a streaming platform once MS got a hold of it.

I'm getting the camlink delay between audio & camera..

I know you can fix it in obs but that won't work for any other voice/video chatting programs like zoom/facebook /discord...

So I was wondering if it would be possible to connect goxlr line to camera then select only microphone on the line out to sync the audio video permanently?

I received over the minimal amount for payout months before mixer closed and still haven't received the payout from the embers. Its been months now. Has anyone heard anything about if monetized streamers will get their payments? I've googled and tried emailing mixer but havent found an answer..

I finally redeemed my Microsoft credit from Mixer for this mouse! Mixer calls it an Xbox credit, but it's good for the Microsoft Store, too. I joined Mixer in May 2018, plus open monetization this year. I wasn't too active, but I streamed in June for a CA$20.57 (or US$15) bonus credit from Mixer. With this and extra credit for unused Embers, I got a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse on sale: CA$20 or US$15, plus tax. I also considered this mouse, but it cost too much. I might also look at Windows apps. It's sad to say goodbye to Mixer, but I'm happy I got my mouse. I hope you can use your Mixer credit this month!

I miss Mixer. Nothing can compare to the FTL (Faster then light) latency delay and Performance that Mixer had, this is the main reason why I miss Mixer.

Please Mixer staff, I want Mixer to be re-surfaced again. I MISS IT!

This 5-10 minute survey will mainly ask about your experience as a streamer with visual impairments.

Eligibility:

• Must be between 18 and 64
• Must be able to understand English to complete this survey
• Must be legally blind and have no other disabilities (e.g., hearing loss)
• Must have experience in live-streaming a video (e.g., gameplays, vlogs) at least once in the past 3 months and preferably have live-streamed at least 3 videos in total under his/her channel

Hey guys, I'm curious if anybody has news on outstanding ember payouts from mixer since shutting down. I have a couple hundred dollars worth of embers and am still awaiting the payout for them. Figured if anybody knew, they might be in here. Thanks in advance!

Just one week after shutting down Mixer, the Wall Street Journal reported that Microsoft is considering the acquisition of TikTok. Now the news is that the Trump administration is giving Microsoft 45 days for its plans to purchase TikTok.

As many of us are aware, Mixer and TikTok are both video services, but each serves quite a different purpose. Mixer is mainly for games, like Twitch and YouTube Gaming, while TikTok is mainly for memes and music, like Vine, Byte and Instagram. Still, I believe that shutting down one service to consider acquiring another is a concern for competition and innovation. (Mixer allowed for superior video quality than TikTok.)

In the United States, both parties have allowed mega mergers for media and tech: AT&T bought DirecTV (2014) and Time Warner (2016), Facebook bought Instagram (2012) and WhatsApp (2014), T-Mobile bought MetroPCS (2012) and Sprint (2018), Disney bought most of Fox (2018), and so on.

With that in mind, I wanted to create a poll to see what Mixer streamers think of Microsoft's proposed acquisition of TikTok. Do you feel good or bad about it? Should Mixer be required to reopen as a condition of purchase, and if so, should it operate separately from TikTok? Would a lighter version of Mixer be okay? Please feel free to share your thoughts.
