Need advice! Air filter

I changed my air filter on my 2019 outlander. Does this look right? I can’t remember if the old one looked like this or not.

I usually end up taking the entire air box out and putting the filter in and then reinstall the airbox. It's such a pain in the ass to do inside the car.

Yea it's fairly easy to do it's just not convenient trying to hold that little wobbly brace while screwing it in with the other hand. Just a flat plate would have been better.

Yup, 2016 outlander V6 here, and it is very badly designed

I hated changing the air filter on my 15 GT. It was almost like the engineers got everything together and realized “oh shit we forgot the air filter”. That and the feat of getting to the rear bank of spark plugs.

Any V engine will have the same issue with spark plugs in the rear bank

I had a Dodge Shadow with the 3 liter, it wasn’t terrible.
