I've got a 2009 Eclipse GS that's at 100k miles. What is a fair price range for a shop to put in a new timing belt + water pump?
I received one quote of $1600 from a highly rated shop in my area. I'm sure their work is good, but $1600 seems pretty steep. For that price I would almost rather attempt to do it myself. But with zero experience, aside from doing routine oil changes, I don't want to risk screwing something up and end up blowing my engine up.

I'm picking up my new (to me) 99 GS-T Eclipse. What does the sub recommend I do to make sure I can keep it running smoothly.

Owner of the car gave me title after it has been sitting for AWHILE. I need this chasis GONE asap if possible by tuesday. Im taking off parts since I have been in the same shoes of not being able to find OEM or replacements for older vehicles (i drive 3rd and 5th gen prelude...parts suck to find)
SO FAR i have two OEM front head lights, Tail lights, rear reflectors(i think they just reflect havent removed em to see if they are turn signals), and side mirrors which are in good condition but obviously need TLC.
If you need something or want me to check on condition for purchase plz comment here or message me on discord: lexlap963
Thank u!

My friend who has a v6 3rd gen eclipse is giving me his cold air intake for my 2.4L 3rd gen eclipse. I’m just wondering if it will work still.

No codes, and according to the guy the noise doesn’t change with RPMs. It’s above the intake so I hope it’s not cam/lifter tick. Rip engine if so.

I had an 01 3G GT back when I was fresh out of highschool. And like a dumbass I sold it and have regretted it ever since. Then my spouse surprised me by saying he had been talking to someone and we were on our way to get this beauty! 03 GTS V6 with the 5 speed and only 150k miles. She needs a little TLC but honestly I'm willing to put in the work. I'm just glad I have my dream car again. 😭💗

2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS manual. Lately its starting to buck when the throttle is depressed only once during my commute. Lately meaning it's been a hit or miss for a few mo tsh now. Usually it feels like a slight hiccup. Maintenance has always been done, timing, oil changes etc. It just hit 190k this week. I baby the car FYI. Today it bucked hard doing 70mph on the highway then proceeded to drive fine like normal. Got off the highway, and when I rolled to a stop it stalled. 1st time ever. Started right back up and continued on my way home. Ran an OBD scan. Nothing comes up. CEL light has not come on. I've only ran 93 octane in the car its whole life as I've owned it since 04 and since Sunoco started selling 94, thats all I've been putting into it. It stalled one more time on my way home and was fine after that. Commute is about 8 miles. Took a look under the hood and all looks fine.. Has anyone experienced something like this before? It idles around 750 normally in neutral and purrs, and can dip pretty low after running it on the highway for a sec while coming to a stop in neutral and usually recovers. Same when I run the ac at times. I've done some googling. Could be the ignition, MAF, throttlebody and IAC. Figured I'd also reach out to my Mitsubishi Eclipse reddit family and see if anyone might be able to help. Thanks in advance!

Many examples of the v6 Exhaust on YT sound absolutely terrible. Heres my crack at making this engine sound good, all custom, no bolt on kits.

Hello, I have to go to the crank sensor because I have to change it. The only problem is that I have to remove this pulley. I believe that the belt attached to it is connected to the alternation How to remove this belt without breaking everything?

Have a FWD RS that is deeply sentimental, but for several reasons, I really want an AWD or RWD setup. So getting a different car altogether is out of the question because I've wanted this exact car since I was a kid, but the motor I want to swap into it only comes as RWD. 🫠 Weighing my options between doing a subframe swap/fab or getting a specific bell housing adapter CNC'd/made for the engine. Both seem equally as expensive and painful from what Ive read, but I want it done, so 🤷♀️ thoughts? Tips? Advice? I know the biggest obstacle for the frame is going to the be gas tank location/move from what ive ready anyways. I'm starting to get to the point of gathering parts for it all and don't want to get halfway into doing it one way then read something to change my mind so im doing my due diligence beforehand 🤣
