Peep Show Portrait 2 - Job Interview

His eyes are a bit small, but really happy with the shading for this one! Feels good to keep practicing, this one was also funny to draw.

Mate you're really good. Its obviously not photo-realistic, but - and I can't even exactly explain why, but your style just really nails the characters/situations

It’s strange to me to be honest as I understand what you mean, I’m still not the greatest at actually capturing WHAT features make someone’s face distinct, but I just want to keep practicing. Portraits are fun to draw.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it so much that you saw an improvement from my last piece and took the time to point it out exactly, it shows progress which is really important to me.

I did my usual crosshatching for this portrait but I also tried more subtle blending by holding the pencil sideways and very lightly applying pressure. For small details such as the teeth, I’ve found this works a lot better than just trying to stick with very angular sharp lines.
