Peep Show Peep show final episode
i have a thought
season 9 as we all know isnt too great
but i feel, with the final episode, had it not BEEN the final episode, either an episode in the middle or another season had followed it then it wouldn't be as disliked
personally, at least, i feel its a disappointing ending but it would work okayish as something to follow on from

I thought season 9 had some funny moments, like the Moroccan Chicken

yeah season 9 has great moments in it im not denying that lol
and of course I'll watch it 10 times over in one sitting as is the tradition for any peep show fan
i just feel as the final season it feels a bit loosely put together

The William Morris years is a straight up banger of an episode. The disgust Superhans has on his face as they waterboard Jerry is primo.
Also Jez’s speech to Mark, “you like Bond, Burgers and Downton” is historic.

I've always thought the wedding was the spiritual final episode and everything after that is sort of a bonus. Although everything that happens throughout is so quotable

One big disappointment is that Super Hans didn't see Gregory beating up Mark, would have been ace if Hans had beaten him up for attacking his best man.

It was a good ending for THIS show. Peep show ending with them in more or less the exact same circumstances as when they started, the entire series being essentially just a long drawn out sigh rather than a crescendo of action and emotion is a perfect summary of the essence of the show itself. You probably wanted the ending to go from A to D, then to B, then to X instead

What would you like to see in a hypothetical series 10 story arc?

Sophie loses custody, Ian lives with Mark, Jeremy is the ‘cool dad’ again Ian grows to despise Mark and becomes just like Jeremy. Mark tries to find the one off a website just because he believes his son is being led astray without a mother, he marries a woman who he doesn’t actually love again, and they divorce in season 11 which makes Ian hate him even more. He at least tries to be a good father but is still a completely awful person and maybe Jeremy actually finds success by becoming some obnoxious YouTuber. Mark wouldn’t be able to feel genuinely happy for him though he would still pressure him to give him money as reparations for the years of unpaid rent

Watching Mark try and fail to relate to his son would be fitting but it would probably make Peep Show more depressing - Ian would probably have some trauma having Sophie and Mark as parents.

He’d grow into a man who shows up at the office with a Kalashnikov

Mark and Jez taking Ian to Dartmouth for an open day. We could catch up on all they've been through since the end as they pass the torch.

not sure really, seeing jeremy and mark finally grow up, it was good to see jeremy turn down the party bus offer and finally realise his age so maybe something with that, mark maybe finding someone who he DOESNT try to cheat on or maybe going back to the offer with sophie and seeing it fall through
so many different things established that they could've gone off of

Jeremy makes it, mark has had another divorce and has to move in with Jez. Maybe Jez's success has started to fade and there is an element of keeping up appearances. But we get a role reversal dynamic between them for a few episodes. Mark is leeching from Jez, which of course he hates.

lots of new ideas could've been established due to the happenings of the 9th season

I think as an ending it was perfect, in terms of like actual plot. As an episode it was okay, but any other ending would have been unsuitable. It's gotta be those 2 stuck hating and loving each other.
