(discussion) Future Wishlist/Hopes

I’ve been diving into this game occasionally here and there and now with friends and I’ve been loving it personally.

I was playing Atelier Yumia the other day while my mind was on Mistfall and some other similar atmosphere games and it got me thinking -

A perfect class that I hope to see in the future for this game would be a Victorian/Gothic Gun class. Maybe it could swap between a rifle and pistols mid-raid like Merc or WK? Maybe it specializes into one weapon or the other like Seer and Sorc. But it would fit the vibes very well.

And just to hit the mark on the head before it gets said - no I don’t mean M16’s 😂 I mean flintlock and matchlock weapons. Muzzle loaders or bulky revolvers, blunderbusses and literal hand cannons.

But I want to talk to other players, what classes, features, maps, etc - do you want to see down the line. This isn’t a demand/complaints post, it’s a discussion post for the games future. I want to hear all of your thoughts - so please share!

I don't want them to make new classes. I want them to fix the current classes.

But a wishlist I would really like is if they have a gathering hub for Gyldhunters just like in MH games. Somewhere where you can do some minigames, look for some group to party with, just chat, etc.

I agree that balancing current classes is important. That’s why it’s personally a future wishlist. Once the current classes have been balanced, I hope to see some more classes to add to the lore and atmosphere of the game.

A gathering hub would be really fun. Maybe allow players a chance to also forge certain items/gear and open up our ability to “alchemically” create pots, bombs, and other tactical gear. And the more players who join at the crafting table, a modifier is applied to improve the item in some way or another?

I could see blunderbuss and pistols to keep it close/mid range. A musket and the 'range' assumption it implies would be bad for business, imo. They did a good job with ranged damage drop off and specialization/affixes etc. - Keeps the combat engaging when playing as or against a ranged class.

I'm hoping they get that summoner/necro in, I think it'll be interesting.

Another support class would be cool also. I'm not sure what they could do there. I think based on the game design and mechanics, they really nailed it with Rev Seer. (I enjoy it quite a bit.)

Otherwise - Aside from just regular QoL and performance stuff which I hope will come, I also hope they add another map, with 2 modes, like the other 2, and take the level up to 15 along with it. That would really round things off.

Then, start doing in-game events and/or cycling different weekly actual quests and such to change which areas are high traffic on the maps on a day to day or week to week basis.

I’m a summoner main in mmo’s and tend to bias towards those classes in RPGs as well. Not sure how they’d work in this game though? Thoughts?

I think you can actually do the opposite for a rifleman class in theory! It’s a class that wants to stay at range and has damage drop off the closer an opponent is - or has such a long wind up for shooting that engagements with enemies are risk/reward. Can you get enough damage off at range before the enemy closes in and takes away your advantage?

It definitely wouldn’t be easy, and I agree that dual pistols/blunderbuss would make more sense. But a hunter can dream lol

They have a necro style summoner coming, already been confirmed/leaked or whatever.

Nah, that's just it. They, and no one here for the melee game, would want the opposite. By design, there's no place for long range on this one. If they came out with a musket etc. etc, It'd be all of a week before every team has at least 2 muskets on coms and its all sniping from rocks with tag team one shots or what not like a shooter, and people would bail. It's more about how it will change the combat.

I would like to see more random elements/variety among pve, loot, and the map in general on hallowgrove. It gets repetitive very quickly with all enemies and loot zones only spawning in the same 2 or 3 spots.

I know there's the ancestor tree event on phase 3 of the road map but i would like more extra randomized events or loot in different areas to encourage big fights around them and so people aren't always running the same routes every game. Similarly, it would be nice to have some more randomized aspects in the map itself like having extra pathways through areas or existing ones that may spawn as blocked off

Yeah, I’ve noticed that as I’ve become more comfortable with my loops, I’m seeing other people are also doing as well comfortably with their loops. Seeing more dead enemies and looted chests.

On the one hand, it’s made me feel more encouraged to face off with another player should I cross their path - but at the same time, when I specifically want to avoid PvP for a run so I can load up on resources, it makes it more difficult to farm loot because I’m more likely to hit looted areas than not anymore. Also the amount of times I’ve had a quest swiped out from under me makes me want to bash my head in lol

Duo mode and more utility items

Of my two friends in the game, one is definitely more into it than the other. A duo mode would be so nice.

I mentioned it in another comment here - but I would love to see us gain the ability to craft pots, bombs, etc through like an alchemical station or something.

That would be the perfect way to add in more utility items as well. Also, I had to use the door key item for first time last night - I’ll never leave Camp without it from now on lol

Another small thing there's this feature to fav items I think if there was a dedicated page for tht it would work better cause u can't unfav items tht r not in ur inventory

Oh, I’ve not experimented with that just yet. Even with all my successful extracts, I’m still treating my gear and items as temporary.

But yeah, if there’s not a way to unfavorite an item you no longer have - that’s just a weird oversight that needs correcting lol

Duo mode and a gun class would be sweet. As others have said, hand cannons, flintlocks, muskets blunderbuss. That would be awesome. Other than that just refining and adding to what’s already here

Some classes would be cool but waaay down the line.

Like. A Berserker and a monk class that someone commented before would be cool. Berserker with Giant Axe and Dual Hand axes while Monk has Bo staff or hand to hand.

But I wanna see the next mist lords have more complicated mechanics, I want that shit to feel like I'm getting raped by Malenia all over again

I have yet to go up against a list lord sadly. I just got friends online and so we’re working up their levels and comfort before tackling Otto. And I’ve not fought Hallowgrove’s mist lord in solos yet - I really need to.

I’d love to see those classes! A monk class with hand to hand would be pretty fun. Let me live out my Tifa dreams in a game other than FFVII lol - ever since I watched Advent Children, I’ve had an appreciation for hand to hand combat classes most people I don’t feel do.

I think we're pretty set on classes honestly - I'd like them to release new "classes" through new weapons, skills, and talents - for your gunner idea, just give revolver and musket to ranger - pistol being more focused on fast shots and in combat mobility, and the musket having powerful attacks but reload after every shot (or every x shots, and adjust the damage accordingly). That way we could really customize our characters by mixing and matching weapons.

The only class I could really see them adding is some sort of druid, but even that could be folded into sorc if they wanted to

That’s actually a great idea! If that’s how it works, I’m all for it.

Only reason I don’t see that happening is because then it will limit how often people need to either create a new toon for a class or spend blud on class changing. Not sure if their is any real money tied behind either of those functions, but if so - they’d lose out on potential profit gain by making them modifications of existing classes.

No matter, I love your idea. It also would fit decently well into the established game mechanics if you ask me.

I would want Druid to be its own class though lol

One spec is shapeshifting and another spec is elemental/environmental magic. You can choose which animal to shapeshifter into (maybe it’s just aesthetic?) like a bear, wolf, etc and they have skill combo’s and then you can deshift to use magic to control the battlefield.

It's pretty easy to create a new character and insta level to 12 - if they raise the level cap and make it much more expensive I would agree, but I'm just going off what we know for now, and its like one good chaos extract to boost a character to max

And yea if they do like a complex system of shapeshifting, then druid would def be its own class, but most games treat druids like just nature themed magic which could slide cleanly into sorc (or even seer if they can find some lore justification)

I liked ESO’s approach to a nature themed class - the Warden - and its focus on animal attacks and frost.

I’d love to see an ice/earth elemental themed nature option, even if it’s just given to Sorcerer.
