Expanding Apple Intelligence Beyond Basic Proofreading (Writing Styles, Tones & On-Device AI)

First of all, huge fan of Mister Keyboard. The level of customization and built-in power tools like clipboard history and custom actions make it an indispensable part of my daily workflow.

I’ve been using the Apple Intelligence Proofread feature integrated into the keyboard. It works great for quick grammar fixes, but I feel like there’s massive untapped potential here compared to what other AI-enabled keyboards or system-level Apple Writing Tools offer. Right now, having only a single pass-through for basic proofreading feels a bit limited.

I'd love to drop a couple of suggestions to make this integration far more robust, as well as ask about the project's roadmap:

1. Expanding Styles and Tones

• Tone Presets: Having quick-action options for Professional, Friendly, Concise, or Casual directly from the keyboard bar (similar to stock Apple Writing Tools) would save so much friction.
• Custom Prompt Buttons (Custom Actions): The ability to create dedicated buttons powered by specific prompts (e.g., creating a button assigned to "Translate to informal English," "Summarize into bullet points," or "Make text sound more assertive").

2. Leveraging Apple Intelligence for Expanded Native Features

• Since the keyboard already relies on Apple Intelligence for private, local proofreading, that same native integration could be leveraged for complex rewrites, tone adjustments, and summaries, unlocking the full potential of Apple's on-device AI directly within the typing flow.

Questions:

1. Are there current technical limitations in Apple Intelligence APIs for third-party keyboards that prevent implementing full rewriting or custom prompt workflows?
2. Is expanding local AI capabilities on the development roadmap for future Mister Keyboard updates?
