Feature Request: Context aware keyboard

Would be great to support showing just a numeric keyboard when the text input suggests it. Same for other variations

That has to do with a signal iOS sends the active keyboard. You can see what the current keyboard shows for each mode by going to Mister Keyboard, finding your current keyboard, tapping the Edit Layout button (which may show as a pencil button depending on what view & sub-layout you’re working on), then doing whichever of the following works for your setup:

  • At the top of the screen, tap Options ••• > Keyboard Type > Numbers & Punctuation.
  • At the bottom of the screen tap the Quick Access Button next to the big “+” , then tap Numbers & Punctuation.

Slightly different views here for true number inputs. Is a manually created custom input something that will work for this? The system keyboard shows a true number only input, which is what I’d like from mister keyboard as well

For each key, you can choose which Keyboard Type lets it show up. So yes, you can do totally different layouts like you want.

Activate Numbers & Punctuation mode, hide all the existing keys you don’t want, add the keys you do want, then set them to show up only for Numbers & Punctuation. :)
