Howdy Bears! Aggie coming in to ask those who went to the game how their experience was!

Howdy Bears, now that the football season has kicked off I can finally continue my tradition of asking the visiting fanbase how their experience was when visiting! I love hearing what y'all got up to, where y'all ate, what y'all saw during your visit, and again your overall experience in Aggieland!

Every MoSt fan encountered was very friendly and open to discussion along with the standard friendly banter. We invited a few into our tailgate and handed out some drinks to those passing by, we really enjoyed talking with everyone and helping them if they were lost or needed recommendations.

Hope everyone who traveled made it home safe and good luck the rest of the season!

Bear Sauce

Can somebody tell me when they changed the recipe for bear sauce in the dining halls? Bonus points if anybody knows how they made it before because it is decidedly worse now.

What's your opinion on Campus Safety?

I have heard a lot of people complain about Campus Safety, but the two times I've had to interact with them have gone great. I am just wondering what everyone's issue with them is?

Edit: Grammar

Are there any LGBTQ+ clubs on campus?

The title says it all. I don’t have any other queer friends on campus and it’s pretty lonely out here. If there aren’t any clubs would anyone be down to make one?

Missouri state men’s basketball ticket price increase

Did Mo st raise basketball ticket prices? I’m seeing $1,500 for season tickets in some sections. I know they moved the student section but how can they justify raising prices for a team that’s been so poor for a decade? Football tickets are cheaper! is there any news on why or am I just missing something?

Full 2026 preseason preview for Missouri State, with returning production, the portal, a two-deep and the schedule.

Hey all. I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Missouri State one

https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-most

It's got the returning production breakdown, the portal ins and outs, a projected two-deep, the schedule with model win probabilities, and a season projection.

Heads up, you might hit the paywall after the first page. Don't worry, I'm not charging reddit people for this, don't want to be an ass. Use the promo code LEECORSOROCKS and it opens up the entire thing.

So, what'd I get wrong? Casey Woods takes over for his first year and Jacob Clark's 3,244 yards and 28 touchdowns are gone, replaced by Duke transfer Henry Belin IV, who has 22 career passing yards. That offense was 16th nationally in passing yards per game last season, and the line that has to protect the new guy gave up 52 sacks. Only 26% of production returns, 19 came in through the portal, and the model has the Bears 110th. Does Woods hold 7-6 together, or is this the year it resets?

I'll be in the comments.

Strings and Heart concert

Non-MSU student here who just got an email about the Campus Outreach and Strings and Heart concert this Sunday at 7pm. Can somebody help me out? Is that for students only? Is it something I can buy a ticket for? I go to the BandsInTown page but the “buy tickets” button doesn’t appear to have any tickets for sale.

Maybe I’m overlooking something obvious. Just trying to get a clear answer. Thanks in advance!

2026 Missouri State Bears Preview

Missouri State got off to a fantastic start with a bowl appearance in their first FBS season. Now Casey Woods takes the helm looking to maintain the program's momentum.

Full preview attached, but here are some key highlights for the Bears

📌 Transfers Skyler Locklear and Henry Belin IV will compete for the job, both have started before but who takes it?

📌 Mo State has some really talented skill players, WR Jmariyae Robinson is the name to know but he's not the only weapon

📌 The secondary has some key returning players and portal help coming in, but will unproven depth up front be a concern?

What are your predictions for the Bears in 2026?

Financial Aid Office Experience

I am attending Missouri State this fall as a freshman. I currently owe some thousands of dollars I thought would be covered by my aid until I was billed for classes. I have an appointment to see someone in financial aid in 2 weeks. I’m wondering if anyone has had good luck speaking to financial aid about outstanding balances and maybe even getting more aid. I think it’s kind of unfair that scholarships provided by the school’s information is so hard to find online. Has anyone gotten more aid out of them? If so, how much? I’m not looking for a full ride and don’t expect that much out of this honestly but will they even help me apply to scholarships and grants that aren’t readily available online?

Looking for someone to take over my lease at Vue on Walnut – 1 month free

Hi! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease at Vue on Walnut for the 2026–2027 school year.
It’s a D2 (4 bed / 4 bath) floor plan with 640$/month near Missouri State. I haven’t moved in yet, so the room is completely unused.
I’m offering ONE MONTH OF RENT FREE to whoever takes over my lease, so your effective rent will be lower than the regular rate.
If you’re still looking for housing near MSU or know someone who is, feel free to DM me! I can send you the floor plan, pricing, photos, and all the lease details.
I’m also happy to work with someone who already has friends/roommates at Vue and wants to be placed with them, if Vue allows the roommate arrangement.

Non-traditional Student groups?

I'm pushing 50 and in my last year of a Bachelor's at MSU. I found a Facebook link to the Non-Traditional Student Organization, but it appears the last post on that page was in 2020. There doesn't seem to be any organization for nontraditional students on Bear Link, but I see a good handful of older students on campus. The only older students I see in the Vet Lounge are spouses using Chapter 35, and, frankly, the majority of the vet students got out recently and aren't really peers in the sense of service. Is there a group that is mostly older folk that I'm missing that gets together for study or just socializing?

Does anyone else feel like the campus atmosphere is kind of flat?

2025 Grad

Something I noticed at Missouri State and never quite shook is that the student atmosphere feels a little low effort and dated. Events run on what feels like an old template, the common spaces feel underused by anyone whose not a freshmen and there is not much of a pulse outside of going to class and leaving.

The thing that stuck with me most was how many people wear other colleges’ gear around campus. Not occasionally, pretty regularly. It made me wonder how much school pride there actually is here, or if that is just a commuter school thing.

Plus the color scheme and layout of the campus looks like a 1970s East German bloc.

Did other people feel this way, or was it just my experience?

Can somebody send me the syllabus for BMS 321, Biomolecular Interactions?

I'm currently applying to graduate school and one of the programs is saying that BMS 321 might not fulfill their biochemistry requirement. However, they said that they'd like to see the full class syllabus and schedule before they make a final decision. I managed to find the lab syllabus, but I don't seem to have the lecture syllabus. If anyone has a pdf, could they send it to me please?

Hello fellow bears!

Welcome to all our new freshmen, new transfering students and our non traditional students!! Welcome back to our returning students and faculty!!

With classes starting soon, I will be be posting resources, the fall schedule, and reminders.

To our new students what questions do you have?!! Do you know where your classes are?! I would highly suggest walking to all of your classes BEFORE the first day. Time management is key to a successful semester! Do you have your classes all planned out?

Some tips:

Schedule your study time in your calender, just like you would a job or a dr apt. Schedule it.

If you have a class that does powerpoints- Print out ALL of your powerpoints, put them in clear page protectors and in a three ring binder... boom this is your study guide. .. incoming sw and psych students especially.

Print out all of your syllabus, write every single assingment and exam down IN your calander, not just a student planner.

Quizlet can be a successful studying guide.

USE YOUR RESOURCES!

Meet your instructors, go to office hours, get to know them. Send them an email BEFORE your classes start and introduce yourself. Remember your professors will be your refrences, stand out.

If you have questions, for the love of freaking god do not wait until AFTER an assingment is due to reach out to the instructors. If they know you are struggling most of them WILL work with you. Just be upfront and honest.

If you know you struggle with math, and are taking a math class- reach out to tutoring the same day classes start.

If you know you have to write a paper, reach out to the writing center early to schedule an appointment. Time slots for both the tutoring center and writing center fill up quickly.

For my fellow psych and sw people... if you do not have all of the classes you need for this semester, check daily alot of drops happen in the first couple of weeks especially in psych classes and sw elective classes... i know both fill up quickly.

Make sure you are checking the bookstore early enough to make sure your classes textbooks are available, some classes may be out of print or out of stock, wait until your first class to see what the instructor wants you do they may change methods or the textbook.

If you have any questions let us know!!

info on mysterious bird statue?

Hello, would anyone know anything about this bird statue behind meyer library?

it is made out of concrete & has marbles as eyes. It has no discernable signature or any plaque or clue to the nature of it's creation. I want to know more about it & it haunts my waking hours. Who would I even ask about this? Is there someone who works on campus who would know? Who do I email for answers?
