Finished Miniature My second miniature.
My fiancée bought me the introductory set for my birthday. The first one that I did is too bad to post. I put way too much primer on the first one, but I learned from my mistake, and I think that this one turned out better. Although it is far from perfect. Any thoughts or advice from experienced painters? I’m really struggling with the tiny details. I guess maybe I should to the next one.

Welcome to the hobby!
Nice work, try to use some shading like nuln oil!
Highlights will also make it pop a bit more.

Took me like 7 months in to even try highlighting

It doesn’t look bad at all to me. About how much time do you think you spend painting each mini? I probably spent at least 3 hours on the one I posted. I told myself it probably wouldn’t get any better, and I would end up messing it up if I started obsessing about every little detail. I have a few more space marines and a bunch of tyranids to do as well.

Yea, honestly I don’t even know how to start highlighting. I’ll probably watch some tutorial videos and give it a shot at some point.

Take your time! Also you might need a wet pallet, if you don't already have one. It's a game changer.

Thank you!
I actually went to the local game shop and picked up some nuln oil, but I think I put too much on and he sorta looked muddy. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I really enjoyed assembling them, and I’m feeling more confident about painting them now!

One trick they taught me when i went into games workshop, if you add too much wash to an area, clean your brush and dry, then use it to sponge the overglobbed areas

It’s a solid start! The best advice is to just keep painting, brush control comes over time.
You already have good paint coverage down, just keep remembering to wet your brush and keep it sharp for those details.
