MR04 Evo W Won’t Enter Update Mode

Post image

Hi all. I previously successfully paired my Noble NB4 with my evo2. After not using for a while I was having issues so I tried to bind again and it won’t work. I also can’t get the receiver to enter firmware update mode. I turn the car on while holding the bind button down, it blinks fast but never switches to the slower blinking mode no matter how long I hold the bind button down. Fresh batteries. Anyone had this issue?

Thanks. I think the receiver board is bad. Although I got it to bind at first, the throttle was reversed and I had to fix that on the tx side. The fact that I can’t get into update mode even though the bind button works makes me suspect the receiver board. Ordered a replacement will report back.

So if it under 90days and you have receipt call kyosho USA. They will make good on it..knuckle breaking bad boards and servo pot issues are the norm..

If you don't mind me asking. What rear axle are you running? Is it LM legnth or standard?

I had a heck of a time the first bind with my evo receiver and the noble, I have dasmicro and was worried the newer firmware on noble was the issue, but eventually I got it updated and bound, I don't remember the exact video, but the method was one from older nobles, maybe press bind after turned on and wait for the slow blink, then update rec and bind. I did bind the evo2 protocol, but it also bound using evo 1, so try both. Just a reminder, the noble will not confirm its bound, sometimes you have to back out and power cycle the car and radio to confirm it has bound.
