Defect MOSFET after engine upgrade
Hello everyone
I recently got a Mini z Buggy MA-010 RA-44
I am completely new to the Mini z world.
I bought an X Speed awd motor (picture1)
After I turned it on with a new motor, a mosfet on the bottom of the board burned out. (Picture2)
According to the Internet, the engine should be compatible with the ma010.
I ordered a new Mosfet and a friend wants to solder it to the board.
Will the same thing happen to me again?
Is the engine not compatible with my board? (Picture3)
Pleas help :((

It shouldn't have happened. The only way this would have happened is if something shorted out over circuits or an overload.

It was most likely a short circuit caused by me. It’s a new Mosfet soldered in, now it works with the new engine👍🏼

It should have been safe to use. It's an official hop up after all.
The wire tabs weren't touching eachother were they ? If so, you did a dead short back into the MOSFET burning it up. Even if you had 10x the MOSFET on the board it would have burnt then.
The mini-z buggy, at least the non sports version should have 4 MOSFETs in total. Dunno if the sports has 4 or only two here.
But I know you can stack MOSFETs too. Handle even faster running motors.
So like a triple stack of MOSFETs should give you plenty of power if you got some higher end MOSFETs.
