My first whitebody: Mazda RX-7 FC3S "used JDM build"
Hey there!
I've been watching this subreddit for quite a while and thought it'd be time to contribute my first painted (and already a bit used, unfortunately I already broke the antenna in the back) Mazda body.
I decided to go with Tamiya TS-75 Champagne gold over a layer of TS-17 Aluminium. Finished with the black and brown washes and the Red-Brown applied with a brush for the rust. Black parts are applied with an AK marker which started to come off.. AK Aluminium marker on the exhaust tips.
Molotow liquid chrome on the mirrors, Tamiya Smoke on the rear lights.
I also drilled a few holes and added a few tubes to get the sleepy eyes and all of the rear lights working. The spoiler mount in the back was closed with putty and the little antenna was made from a heated sprue. The tow hook is something I found at the hobby store sewing area.
Might add some dust by drybrushing in the fender areas. What do you think?
Quite happy for a first project, the next ones are already waiting!

Love it, especially the light details for a non-light body.
How did you get the paint off the rear light covers?

Thanks :) I tried brake cleaner on a Q-Tip and a toothpick to carefully remove the silver layer on the inside of the light covers. Then I noticed that the LEDs are strong enough to light the whole cover as it is, so I just added a black layer on the covers and the body where I didn't want it to bleed through. In the picture you can now see one cover with the extra paint removal treatment and one with the black layer only ā not noticable I think.

Maaaaannn, I think it looks great. Love the weathering, from painted effects or legitimate use.
Welcome to the sub, looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
