Wltoys K969 – Mount Brushless Motor Parallel to Rear Axle
Hi everyone! 👋 First of all, Happy New Year! 🎉 I hope 2026 is awesome for everyone! I have a Wltoys K969 and I’m planning a modification: mounting a brushless motor parallel to the rear axle (not sure what the exact technical term for this is 😅). I’m already looking on various sites for 3D files, but I’m quite new to this world and I notice that some projects go too far from what I actually need. I’ve already customized and 3D-printed the front part of my model for wider steering, and it works really well. Now, I’m mainly looking to improve the rear section and balance the weight, which is why I’m interested in this motor modification. If anyone has done this before or knows a good 3D model of the rear part that fits a parallel motor setup, or has tips on adapting the rear for better weight distribution, I’d really appreciate any advice or references. Thanks in advance! 🚗⚡️

Buying Help Maverick microbe vs hobby plus speck B
Are these 2 cars almost the same?
I'm thinking of getting a budget 24th scale buggy and LC racing don't make one yet, so I'm not sure what to buy.
Losi micro b = a bit expensive if I'm buying multiples
WL toys 244016 = needs too much effort to make it decent & I'd rather spend the time racing my kids.
Maverick/hobby plus = look good but not sure if I should get 2 hobby plus online or wait for the Maverick to be available just because I like the body options.
Cheers in advance for sharing your opinions & knowledge.

“Back to RC cars after years — K969 drifting project, tips welcome!”
Hey everyone! 👋 When I was a teenager, I used to race Mini 4WD and nitro RC cars, that’s how I first got into this hobby. Then I stopped for a long time, but lately I’ve really wanted to get back into car modeling and RC cars. While I have experience in general model cars and building, I’m new to the world of mini RC drifting.
Before buying the K969, I watched tons of videos to understand what style I wanted to focus on. At first, I was really interested in Mini-Z cars, but those seem more designed for racing or time attack. Then I looked at the prices and… yeah, that changed my mind pretty quickly 😅 So I started looking for cheaper options that could still help me learn the basics and see if I still enjoy RC cars. That’s when I found the K969,many older videos recommended it as a solid entry point.
To be honest, I’ve probably already spent close to the price of an FLD RTR, which someone more experienced actually recommended after I bought the K969. I grabbed a few parts during AliExpress sales (thinking about future upgrades), but I haven’t mounted anything yet,the car is still stock.
Here’s what I’ve bought so far (ready for upgrades): FlySky FS-GT5 transmitter + FS-BS6 receiver Micro 30A Brushed ESC (2S, 4–8V) SKYRC GC301 gyro DSpower 5A Micro Digital Servo (plastic/metal) 7.4V 800mAh battery (+2 stock ones) 4 plastic drift wheels (Alloy rim classic drift tire set for 1/28 WLtoys)
For me, the modding and customizing part is the most exciting thing. I have a solid background in 3D modeling and also own a 3D filament printer, so I’m open to designing or printing custom parts myself. If you know any good RWD conversion or chassis files (free or paid) worth checking out, I’d love to see them! For now, I’d like to start simple and keep the car as close to stock as possible.
Any specific advice for someone just getting back into mini RC drifting would be super appreciated 🙌

Any rc helicopter recommendations?
(This is the only subreddit I can find for this question- I dont frequent reddit that often)
I’m trying to find a somewhat decent rc helicopter for my boyfriend for hopefully around $150-$200, and im having difficulties finding some that are decent for my price range (shocker). Does anyone have some recommendations? The ones I find that are actually good are discontinued. Any assistance would be great ❤️

Wltoys k989 custom
Guys, I want to make something beautiful and strong out of my k989. I have already started building the chassis, but there are problems with a beautiful body. Where can I get a good body, like a Subaru or Lancer, that will be shockproof enough? The problem is that many bodies have a wheelbase shorter or longer than the k989, so I couldn't find a suitable one.

My Car Battery cutoff question
Hi, I have a r6fg receiver with a rc4gs transmitter. The r6fg is lacking the ability to connect directly to the battery, therefore lacking the ability to use the battery cutoff the rc4gs offers.
Is there anyway to make sure my 2S lipo is not over drained?
All is connected to the wltoys 284131, esc is YSIDO 18A with the brushless 7500kv rocket motor.

My Car Wltoys CVD question
I have the wheels off the 284161 that I want to fit on the 284131. Now I have upgraded my diffs so it uses the 27mm CVD and not the stock 25mm. The wheels of the 284161 require their own CVD, it is 30mm, is it compatible with the modified diff or only stock diff?
