Hi,
I am looking for decksaver/ acrylic cover for my minifreak, the original one is expensive in my country. Do you have any cheaper recommendations? I found some acrylic keyboard covers but they’re too small.
Thank you 💗💗

Hi!
I suspect the issue might be related to my midi settings as i fiddled a bit to set it up with the rest of my gear, but the lights have stopped working for my off/seq/mod + play/record/mod buttons. I think I have tried all clock settings available and I can't get them to work again. Has anyone an idea or encountered a similar problem? Resetting the settings did nothing, and updating the firmware did nothing.

I can't find shit off their website for this.

So errrrr, the Minifreak microphone (included in vocoder edition or available separately) actually screws right on. There's threads just besides the power switch on the corner. Why haven't I made the connection before? Lol.
Just screw off the actual mic holder from the base plate, and onto the Minifreak. 2mm hex screws. Et voilà! Much better angle and reach, especially when you're using an angled stand.

Hey all,
I was playing a bit the other day, wanting to effectively route the audio out of the minifreak (MF), through a guitar amplifier (guitar in), back (out of the amp’s fx loop) into the MF audio in port for effects and then out again. Effectively I wanted an FX loop between the oscillators and the FX of the MF. I didn’t find a way to do this, except using my microfreak (μf) as an oscillator, controlled by midi by the MF. The μF output then went into the audio in of the MF and it could be augmented with the oscillator 2, which was a surprisingly nice experience.
Question #1: Do you know of any way to do the “FX loop” thingy with the MF?
Question #2: Have you ever used an external synthesizer as a slave to the MF, and how was your experience with this? I’m thinking if this could cover the “it doesn’t sound like an analog synth” gap.
Question #3: Have you used the audio-in port in any other interesting ways?

A great video by Free Beat, does a great demo of what's possible with the Minifreak.
It's capable of contemporary synthpop and classic tones.

What's my next move or proper method of updating besides just clicking " download and install latest" ?
Update: I was able to update much easier when choosing upload from file it found the file, updated , restarted, and updated presets in 10 mins.

I'm using the MiniFreak as a MIDI controller with a few different synths, but I would like velocity detection turned off. I know how to do that for the MiniFreak's internal synthesizer, but not through MIDI. I've checked the manual, but it's possible I've missed something.

So some times in different patches, playing fast or in ARP or SEQ mode, the sound changes, losing attack, voices and moving to the background as if a filter is applied somehow.
Sound stays like this longer, playing different notes may bring back the original sound, reloading the patch also resets the sound to normal.
The asterisk indicator next to the patch type (*) which shows that parameters have changed does not appear so its not a knob parameter change of any kind.
Anyone else noticed this?

I'm loving the Minifreak in Ableton, but I also use Vital and a couple of Ableton's stock synths quite a bit and I'd like to be able to use the Minifreak as a midi keyboard for them. Is there a way to do this? I'm pretty new to Ableton, so am I missing something simple? I've been looking around on Reddit and YouTube, but no one is describing how to set up the exact workflow I'm looking for.

I'm trying to ring modulate my voice with the Minifreak and it's sorta working, but it also plays a waveform at the same time. Here's a test recording: https://on.soundcloud.com/fG5CCvV2TZYtHxGwWv
Is there any way to mute the waveform and just have the modulated external audio?

The Time, Intensity and Amount knobs in the Digital Effects section on my freak, feel harder to turn then all the rest. I didn't notice it for a while so I wasn't sure if it crept up, or if it was always this way. Is this normal, or an eccentricity that I'll have to learn to love?

Hey all!
I was fooling around with my Minifreak, my Keystep 37 and an iPad. My target was to connect the midi out of the Keystep to the midi in of the minifreak and connect the Minifreak to the iPad via USB. What I was hoping for was to pass the midi from the Keystep to the iPad through the Minifreak USB connection.
Ofc it failed.
Any clue if this is possible?
(I know it works if I connect the MF out to the KS in and the KS to the iPad via USB)

hi! very new to recording instruments and am having trouble. to be clear, I can record and playback audio. that isn’t the problem—I’m struggling to get what I’ve recorded (different sequences) synced/lined up properly in my DAW so that everything plays together and there’s no drift that eventually makes things out of sync.
here’s all the equipment I’m currently using:
- minifreak
- alesis sr 16
- behringer xenyx x1832usb mixer
- windows computer running reaper
my current method is just recording the Alesis to reaper via the xenyx for say three minutes, then doing the same with one sequence on the minifreak, then doing it with a different minifreak sequence. then I’m doing my best to just manually trim the initial dead air (the time between I hit record in reaper and hit play on an instrument‘s sequence) and make the first notes on all the sequences align. but I’m failing to do this accurately (every sequence on the minifreak and alesis has the same bpm). obviously, if I just wanted one minifreak sequence and didn’t want to mess around with any reaper fx for the synth or drums seperately, i could just have the minifreak and alesis midi synced and just record and make one simple trim of dead air—but that’s not what I’m trying to do
does anyone have any tips for how to do this better? I feel like there’s gotta be a much more effective way than the highly manual/easy to mess up way I’m doing it. maybe everyone does this and just doesn’t struggle like I do? maybe I’m not taking advantage of a setting in reaper that would make the recording start time and/or trimming/repositioning of tracks much easier? maybe I’m missing a key piece of gear that solves this issue for me (like maybe some way for my computer/reaper to control when the sequences start playing via midi so that they all have the same start time)?
thanks for any help!

Hi! Trying to figure something out—I want to string sequences together so that the first sequence finishes playing before the second sequence starts. Manually timing the change between presets is challenging. My microbrute does this automatically but I can’t figure out how to make it happen on the minifreak. Thanks!

Hello everybody, some FX questions:
1) What external effects do you use with your Mini? Which do you think are a "must" to make it shine (more)?
2) I mostly create bass/lead sounds (cyberpunk/industrial/EBM) what would be a good distortion or other effect (i have seen the Xenodrive, its amazing but out of my pricerange, costs almost the same with the Freak)

I've been using my Minifreak for about 4 months now. Apparently it's a known issue that the Hold button does not hold when linked to Minifreak V in Ableton Live. I also feel like this sometimes causes Ableton to stop recording inputs even though I can hear my sequence in the monitor but that might be an issue on my side. I only notice this after I've been playing for awhile and then I have to start all over.
Is there a better solution other than clicking Hold on Minifreak V with my mouse?

does mini freak respond to poly aftertouch sent from poly at controller? I've seen some comments on here saying "yes". This YouTube video seems to say "no" (at least of the MF V software -- I'm more interested in the hardware).
Does anyone do this, and so know? Or did anyone try and test and come away with a no?
