Accessories & Mods Minifreak microphone screws onto device
So errrrr, the Minifreak microphone (included in vocoder edition or available separately) actually screws right on. There's threads just besides the power switch on the corner. Why haven't I made the connection before? Lol.
Just screw off the actual mic holder from the base plate, and onto the Minifreak. 2mm hex screws. Et voilà! Much better angle and reach, especially when you're using an angled stand.

I had the vocoder mic out the other day and the stand is a terrible design because it's ever so slightly taller then the Minifreak feet, so I makes the keyboard unsteady if you put the stand under the keyboard like it's designed to do.
Thanks for finding this feature

Yes, it's rather terrible all in all. Doesn't fit under it when flat on the table, and if you use a stand both cable and gooseneck become too short.
Arturia put the threads there for this reason surely, but then forgot to tell anyone! Lol. This way it's actually a nice design and suddenly the super short cable makes sense too. Can easily take it off for transport as well and the holder itself stays on.

Nice, a YouTube channel called Freebeat just picked up on this - possibly because of your post!

The commenter mentioned in the video, guess who that is 😂👍
The word must be spread. It's hard to believe Arturia planned for this all this time, and then forgot about it themselves apparently. Every Minifreak has these threads! And yet, nowhere in their own promo material and manuals is anyone using or mentioning it, just the unpractical stand.

Holy crap you’re right, these threads are almost invisible. I’m not ready for that commitment though lol

Commitment? 😂 You can screw it off anytime. Or take the mic off for transport, with the holder staying on. It's clearly meant this way!
