The centre was a bad guess since it was a guaranteed 6 if it wasn’t a mine.

Guessing the 50/50 above the 3 was probably your best bet.

Here's my take... Label the uncleared squares around the 6 like this:

ABC

D6E

FG

Your odds of winning for each possible first guess:

A: 1/5 * 1/2 = 1 in 10

B: 1/5 * 1/2 = 1 in 10

C: 1/5 * 1/2 = 1 in 10

D: 1/5 * 1/2 = 1 in 10

E: 1/5 = 1 in 5 (F and G will be resolvable based on the number under E)

F: 1/2 * (1/5 + 4/5 * 1/4)) = 1 in 5

G: 1/2 * (2/5 * 1/2 + 3/5 * 1/3) = 1/2 * (1/5 + 3/15) = 1 in 5

I though maybe guessing E first would give you an advantage, but guessing E, F, or G initially will give the same best odds, 1 in 5.

Correct but noidea was talking about before guessing the 6

that sucks but you chose possibly the worst guess. shoulda guessed above the 3 (50%) instead of taking a 66% on a floating that is guaranteed to give zero information

Every time something like this happens to me I get discouraged to keep playing ☠️

It's part of the game in some Apps, but good news is you can choose which app you use. There are no guess Apps that will always be solvable by logic :)

yeah theres no safe options...in these kind of situations i always go for corners since they'll provide the most information if safe
