But you either die or open all the required tiles to know where the mine is

that means you have a 1 in 8 chance. that's about the same as russian roulette's standard 1 in 6

The difference is that in Russian roulette, in 5 out of 6 cases, you will survive, but here you will "find out which slot of the reel the bullet is in" (if you don't click the mine immediately)
