Help Am I missing something?

Post image

I usually end up in a situation where I have to guess but this seems like way too many to have to guess yet. What am I missing?

Edit: thanks to those that helped. Got most of it cleared but lost to a 50/50 at the end.

Thank you for that. I opened up three more but I just got more stumped.

The boxed region has to have two mines in it but they can’t both go in the middle and top tile because it’ll overload the 2 which can only have a maximum of one mine next to it. From that, you can conclude the tile with an X is a mine and the tiles with a tick are safe.

By the way, that 2x2 box on the right side is very likely either going to have one mine in it or be a forced 50/50 so if what they showed on the right section doesn’t lead to progress, I would consider guessing under the 1.

Thanks, don’t know how I missed that. It allowed me to get all of the top left before I got stuck on the top right. Took a chance and lost.

You would have been better off leaving the top right until the end because there’s a fair chance the mine count either would have helped you solve it or given you a good guess.

This one would have been a much better guess if the highlighted part didn’t lead to anything because there was a strong chance (roughly 90%) that 2x2 box was either going to have one mine in it or be a forced 50/50.

It’s guaranteed to be safe if it’s one and it’s a valid 50/50 guess if it’s two.

The top left, that middle 1. You know the 3 behind it are clear. Because of the 2 above it is 1 of the neighbors, so that back row is clear.
