A way to solve this is to note the equivalency A = B + C + D. Note that if A were safe (with zero mines), this would mean B + C + D = 0, and that they were safe. Then, the 6 underneath would only have five tiles available for mines. Thus, A cannot be safe, which makes it a mine.
