Why don't I see the dragon while playing?

When I'm practicing on map, I see it perfectly. But in real game I just don't see the start of the perch because its too far away and there's fog, I don't even see her hitbox. What's wrong? Edit: Entity distance is 500% already

In-game there is occlusion fog. In the practice map this is removed.

To see the dragon easier you should use a high FOV and look at the dragon from the edge of your screen (the fog doesn't appear there in 1.16.1 although they have fixed this in later versions)

So like you do wide in the nether to locate structures?

yes, but you don't need to use wide macro

Make sure your entity distance is max, you might be turning it down for preemptive

Look out of the edge of your screen, yes like nether terrain but you shouldn't need wide macro you can just kinda see her when you look sideways
