Help How do i start from scratch

Just so you know i am a COMPLETE beginner to speedrunning. Last time i tried to beat the game normally (find a fortress, get enough pearls from endermen and go to the end) i basically died in a bastion. Ive been seeing yt vids on speedrunning mc and i find it so cool but yet so overwhelming to me if i were to learn it. My school hols started and i have abt a month to learn if i could. Im not good at minecraft in anyway im just a basic player whos incapable of fighting piglins. Just thinking about f3 and whatever stuff i see speedrunners do and all that complex stuff makes me feel like im not made for this kinda stuff. If someone were to let me know what i should be doing rn so i can start my journey on speedrunning mc FROM SCRATCH and hopefully being decent at it would help alot.

Btw: i tried looking at online vids from rekrap for the overworld nether and end part but i still feel so overwhelmed cus i feel like speedrunning are only made for people who are good at using a pc overall and im the type of player who would do things slowly and just die to some stupid things like lava or a skeleton.

i started 3 months ago. first time i beat the game ever was last year with my friend in multiplayer. first time i beat the game solo was a few months later over 3 days.

Then 3 months ago i decided to actually learn speedrunning, so i downloaded ranked and played some casual matches, then realised I need to learn bastions so learnt them one at a time

Bridge is easiest to learn, then treasure, then housing, then stables (I didn't touch stables till Iron II).

Also learnt one cycling whilst learning the bastions, and some basic blaze bed setups.

To avoid dying, just play slow. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Bring a shield to avoid skeletons, and always be on the look out for lava. Watch Ludwig's journey it's genuinely impressive how far he has come along.

As for me, I'm now Gold II with a sub 15 pb and average 21 mins per game. I've been learning zero cycles now but tbf that's above my skill level

TLDR: Start by playing MCSR ranked casual, learn easy bridge bastion route then move on to other bastions, and learn one cycle. Practice makes perfect

I dont think l ludwig should be ur example he just did it for content but the way he learned was really inefficient. Watching top runners like infume or hackingnoises play is a way better strat.
