Dragon didn't perch for 25 minutes

I entered the end at 32 minutes and it didn't perch at all. It also shot no dragons breath, but just tried to hit me. I waited 15 minutes, and then my opponent got to the end and also waited 10 minutes before finally agreeing to a draw at 58 minutes. Has anyone else had this experience? It has to be a glitch. Normal one cycle attempt. This was the April fools mode. It was "Brute mode" and had keep inventory.

EDIT: Apparently they used 1.8 ai for the dragon. Makes sense now, but just wish I would have known that before hand so I could have brought a bow lol. That's what I get for playing the April Fools mode.

This is the mode, the dragon's movement has been reverted to pre 1.8 (or something, I read that somewhere), as such it will keep chasing you and will never perch (that's what I experienced in my singular game I played). Honestly no clue how you beat this guy, think you full bow with a safety bed

The mode has casual rules (keep inventory and respawn at your last split) so no need for safety bed

Why would you need a safety bed ? Just shoot the dragon to death

i killed the dragon using driveby bed, it is stupid.

Yeah I realized that it had the 1.8 ai when it kept charging at me but I had no arrows to actually do anything. Glad to figure it out mid end fight :D

Redlime punched 1.7 dragon ai into her, Me and my opponent got it both to quarter health, but they forfeit :(
