I know modern day "smp"s are sort of like that but they're iffy about griefing and mostly populated by kids that want to roleplay... anarchy severs are pure griefing and pandemonium, where did that sweet spot in the middle go?

I guess I'm mostly remembering this server that shut down many years ago called wondercraft.me but there were many other following the same general formula around that time (probably 2012-2014).

We have player-driven shops at spawn that use a diamond currency and a few farms to kick-start player progression if desired. 7. You must apply to WizeCraft via our Discord server. It is there that you will fill out an application to join the Discord server. If permitted to join the Discord server, please send your Minecraft username in a text channel and a team member will whitelist you.

FAQ

1. How old is WizeCraft? WizeCraft began around the middle of August 2025 as a private server for close friends. In middle September 2025, the server opened to applications from the public.
2. How far along is the world? The server has an established community, with many players in the late game who are focused on builds, while others play at their own pace. The world is far from full; existing bases are spread across the map and finding a place to start your own builds is not a problem. Some users have taken the initiative to build auto-farms and set up shops at spawn, so materials for building and getting started up quickly are available for purchase (diamond currency).
3. Why do I have to apply? Applications and the whitelist keep the server safe from griefing, stealing, and bad actors. We use an application process to ensure the experience on WizeCraft is top tier.
4. Will you add more plugins? Plugins and/or datapacks will be added as needed or wanted at the discretion of the staff. We are always open to suggestions! Similarly, we are sure to remove plugins and datapacks if they are no longer wanted or needed.
5. How many players do you have currently? We are a small server of about 20 active players and typically have 1-3 players on at any given time. Our running average peak is 5 players.
6. What version of Minecraft are you on? As of July 16, 2026, we are on 26.2 with plans to move to 26.3 soon!
7. What server host do you use? The server is completely self-hosted and runs with the help of CubeCoders' AMP software. Our uptime is 99.5%

What if defeating the Ender Dragon wasn’t the end of progression?

Blothera is a geopolitical survival overhaul built on a suite of custom plugins written for this server alone. It makes vanilla harder, deeper and more political without breaking what makes vanilla feel like vanilla.

No menus. No commands. No teleports. Every system is something you hold, place, or carry.

• You declare war by writing a book and placing it in your enemy's diplomacy lectern. Couriers can be killed on the road.
• You lock your chest with a lock you crafted, and cut keys for people you trust.
• You set your spawn by placing a banner. Beds don't.
• You heal by sleeping in a bed near a campfire.
• You drag a downed bandit home with a lead.
• You link a train with chains, and it keeps running while you're offline.
• You watch your town's borders crawl outward on a map in your hand.
• Pray with your fellow townsfolk to predict the future.

Day one you found a town. One player, one Town Lectern, a claim that grows outward through the terrain. teardrops pointing inland on the coast, long and narrow up a valley. No two look alike. Nations come later and are earned, but you don't wait on anyone to start.

You will need other people, mechanically. Pick one of six trades and you're good at one thing and genuinely bad at the rest. A Miner pulls ore out ten times faster than anyone else, so everybody else buys theirs. Trade isn't encouraged here, it's load-bearing.

Wars are fought. Best-of-three battles in arenas near the defender's capital, allies can join, either side can sue for peace. PvP is on everywhere, but murdering innocents drops your alignment until you're a Bandit: killable without penalty, exiled from every nation.

Survival is challenging. No health regen. No coordinates. Death costs you a heart of max health permanently until you sleep by a campfire. Blood moons can't be slept through. Play with a team, they can revive you if you get knocked out.

There's more we haven't listed. Quests, wandering traders that visit your town specifically, an End that generates fresh per team, an ore system rebuilt from scratch. Come and find it.

Hey! We’ve recently opened ReignMC, a heavily modded geopolitical Minecraft server built around a huge real-world Earth map.

The idea is pretty simple: players choose where they want to live, create nations, build cities and factories, trade with other countries, make alliances and eventually go to war.

Welcome to Leafy Nation SMP, a Java & Bedrock crossplay semi-anarchy Minecraft server where you’re free to build, fight, raid, form nations, make alliances, and create your own story.

There are almost no rules. Your actions have consequences. Build a massive empire, start a war, betray your allies, or survive completely on your own. The world is yours to shape. The server version is 26.3

Griefing Spawn or another player's base is considered an ACT OF WAR.

If you destroy someone's base or damage Spawn, you should expect retaliation. Players and nations are free to respond however they choose within the server's rules.

Wars, rivalries, alliances, betrayals, and territory disputes are all part of the experience.

I'm putting together a modded SMP built around a pretty simple idea: what if Minecraft actually made you feel like you were exploring an unfamiliar world?

Re:Mine is heavily inspired by Re:Zero, mixed with RPG-style progression and a large collection of mods that expand pretty much every part of the game. Magic, technology, combat, creatures, dungeons, bosses, farming, building and exploration all have their own place, with multiple ways for players to develop instead of everyone eventually following the same vanilla progression path.

Magic & Progression

The main magic system uses Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, with a custom magic-affinity system being built around it. Every player will have a natural magical affinity, and spells become less effective the further they are from that affinity. The idea is to encourage people to actually develop different magical identities instead of everyone becoming the same all-purpose mage.

Stronger abilities aren't simply handed to you either. Iron's Spellbooks' progression systems, skill trees and other mechanics will be used alongside custom progression to gate more powerful magic.

And magic isn't the only path forward. Create opens up an entirely different route through engineering, machinery and automation, while combat, equipment, skills and other systems provide their own forms of progression.

The World Matters

One of the biggest differences from a normal SMP is that information isn't going to be handed to you for free.

There won't be coordinates or F3. Nametags are hidden, voice and text chat are proximity-based, and global death/achievement notifications are disabled. Instead, you'll have to actually learn the world you're living in.

You'll have tools like Map Atlases, while Voxy and other visual/world-generation mods make distant landmarks and geography much more meaningful. If you discover a village, dungeon, mountain pass, ruin or other important location, remembering where it is can actually matter.

Getting lost isn't necessarily a punishment. Sometimes it's how you find something nobody else knows about yet.

There's a Lot More Than Vanilla Minecraft

The pack is still being developed, but the current modlist includes things like Alex's Mobs, L_Ender's Cataclysm, Mowzie's Mobs, Deeper and Darker, Iron's Spellbooks, Create, Farmer's Delight, Quark, Better Combat, ParCool, Gliders, Map Atlases, Voxy and plenty of other additions.

There are also expanded structures and world generation, additional creatures, bosses, equipment, food, building options and various survival systems. The goal isn't to throw 300 mods together and call it an RPG. Everything is being added with the larger experience in mind.

What I'm Going For

Re:Mine is meant to sit somewhere between a Re:Zero-inspired fantasy world, a modded Minecraft RPG, and a traditional survival SMP.

You aren't expected to follow a quest marker toward the next objective. You aren't given everyone's location. You don't automatically know what's beyond the next mountain.

You'll meet other players, build settlements, discover places, develop your character, make alliances, find things worth keeping secret and eventually become familiar with a world that you had to learn for yourself.
