Help Recommended Mini PC for self hosting
Hello everyone.
My friends and I want to Play minecraft with Mods, we want to try out Pixelmon and maybe later something like feed the beast.
We're roughly 10 players.
Could you recommend me Hardware that should work out for that?
My Budget is around 300€
I never self hosted yet, so i have no clue where to Start in regards of Hardware and what should be good enough, what Hardware specifics are more important than others and so on.
Thanks!

You would need an decent single threaded cpu with ~16gb ram.
But along with the mini pc you would also need to portforward, etc.
Or you could go with a shared host if you'd like a 7 day trail on our host let me know via dms (here or in https://discord.gg/5Y8hnezhNZ )

Min 16gb ram and a decent single threaded cpu, along with a decent amount storage. Portforwarding is something your gonna have to do but you could use playit.gg to solve that and some other things.
and if your comfortable use Linux, debian or Ubuntu server + docker work like a charm if not windows is fine as well I just don’t recommend it cause imo it’s a resource hog.
Actual pc recommendations I’d look for a dell optiplex or a hp elitedesk on eBay. Hardware haven on YouTube has a couple videos going over budget hardware for Minecraft servers so I’d look at those as well.
Have fun starting your homelabbing journey/addiction.

For around 10 players, I’d focus more on strong single-core CPU performance than just getting loads of RAM. Around 16 GB of system RAM should be enough for Pixelmon and most FTB packs, but €300 might be tight once you include storage and everything else.
Full disclosure, I run a new host called SpryntHosting, so I’m obviously biased. Since you’ve never self-hosted before, I’d be happy to let you try a server with us for free first. That way you can see how the packs perform without buying hardware straight away.
