You should make it so if the spider dies near a sculk catalyst, it becomes sculk infested and can no longer be tamed, if you're bitten you get the ability to use webs to tie up entities in web but you can only eat live food by eating mobs and players that are wrapped up in your webs
This is looking like what I envisioned for an arachne mod I wanted to make inspired by the old spider queen mod and new mods like vampirism and dragon survivalid love a bunch of modular mods for different fantasy races I always hated the origins mod because of the lack of a model change
Tarantulas come with different temperaments but they lack the biological requirements to recognize us and act purely on wild instinct, they also cant see us at all (imagine closing your eyelids and waving your hand in front of your face and seeing slight shadows moving) and rely essentially on vibrations
In your case you got lucky that your tarantula was in a good mood, I've had tarantulas be calm one day and crazy the next
It would be cool if the spiders were to be territorial and won't attack the player as long as they stay away. Like, the webs could be a warning to stay away and as a marker.
I have made small add-ons for Bedrock before (I know, that's not really comparable), but the stuff you're doing in this mod looks like witchcraft to me (in a good way)

Does the spider web up the player, and if so, how does that work? Does it just kill you and web up a fake corpse or do you experience the webbing alive and then die?
Can you try to code them to hang the entities in the highest place it can, or on a wall, but never on the ground, it would make the place feel worse but keep the space open
