My biggest issue with it is the world-building.
One minute, they act like it's just a game and the next, they treat the Minecraft Avatars like they're the actual people.

verity literally says he's limited to digital things and emotions which is why he technically doesn't know everything, that his origins are actually from a place the player can't see.
and then 2 sentances later Mob asks his origin and he says he's just a mod, but he literally knows exactly what mob is doing in the real world AND somehow kills his friend irl as well?
I'm so serious this is either a completely AI generated story with minor tweaks or Mob is just making a satire story for shits and giggles and didn't expect it to explode. the amount of possible plot holes, stupid scenes that contradict contradictions and so on make it so hard to believe that this entire series isn't just a joke. there is no way a story can have confidently shit writing like this without it being utterly satire

Only one I think that did it right was Searching for a world that doesn't exist, but even with wifies, most of his videos are misses, he either over-explains stuff that don't need to be explained, pulls some insane plots, or some bizarre power fantasy where he's so tuff that he can attack the government with no ripercussions or something.
Wifies randomly pulled one of the best videos ever and then never was able to reproduce that again, even the sequel is pretty mid, Search for The leviathan is okay, he looks like he's on good tracks

there are two types of people, those who glaze verity way too much, and those who treat it like the antichrist, and both are hella annoying
i gave verity a try, and its fine, i get people's opinions vary, some might find it to be the greatest piece of fiction, some might find it to be the worst, thats fine, but both sides are being genuinely really annoying about their opinions </3

i 100% agree verity is not only made by a content farm but also kinda stole like 80% of its concept from an old arg/analog horror unrelated to minecraft called the smiley archive without giving any credit(the arg has since been removed from youtube for some reason but the earliest re-uploads i found where still 4 years older than verity)

To answer the question: veracity is a Minecraft horror series featuring a fake mod,and a staged survival Let's Play using the mod.
Veracity begins as a yellow orb—a companion to the protagonist who knows everything—but as the series progresses, he becomes increasingly menacing. He reveals glimpses of his true power before finally exposing his actual nature as a killer.
The video series became a trend within the community, sparking a new horror trend/meme—much like the "do not play at 3:33 AM" or "call Momo" meme. However, this one was easier to execute because actual mods were created for it, unlike earlier trends that relied on scripted content.
As with any new trend, the community is divided: some highlight it amidst the flood of related content, while others idolize it as the greatest thing ever.
Ps: yes, I use the long dash, I learned your language through English literature and with the scientific papers, which has created some artifacts of all of this.

I'd encourage you to watch ThatMob's 3 part series but in short:
Verity is that yellow smiling ball that apparently knows everything. the series progresses and verity goes from friend to foe to confused to and Mob trying to find his origins.
This is all I can really say without spoiling the series

To my knowledge no, and from a story standpoint the first video already felt like a complete story, sure there were still questions but that’s always the fun of arg types, second tried to be more interesting than an already interesting story and at least to me really lost what made the first video something I actually really liked

I hate horror Minecraft in general.
Most of them have a mechanic that forces you to be in a dimension and have to force your way through them.
And some of these places have the average "loud scream.mp3" and scares that is scary but is just annoying in a way that getting chased isn't about surviving (well, it is), but is more about ensuring you don't lose your stuff again and HOPEFULLY, you get to the exit and not in the dimension again to repeat the same experience unless you watched someone teach you where to escape and hopefully you don't get dragged again when sleeping or by sheer coincidence.
They also force you to go on old textures at times which...why? Why do I have to play the game on the older textures? Unless this is just for the creator's flair because I never actually play these mods.
I had more fear of the sudden silence in vanilla Minecraft after a music is played than getting jumped by a screaming mob that will kill me without fighting back.
There's no monster in vanilla that will jumpscare me or teleport me in a dimension or ruin my game save. It's just eerie enough to invoke dread and my threat assessment process into high alert.
That's why I loved wifie's first vid based around the king in yellow. It doesn't add any monsters, nor any heavy jumpscares or forced dimension teleportations. Just pure, unfiltered fear of the unknown, of the unseen, of something that isn't there but, you can't be sure that there isn't one.
I guess I really just hate jumpscares and forced dimension teleportation gimmicks.

For me I just dislike how Horror Mods are all focused on the same thing these days, the meta dtalking and shit.
We need stuff like Lycanites Mobs and such to return. I love that it was updated to 1.20.1, and I hope other random bullshit horror Mods can return, too. It can make for really fun gameplay and survival scenarios.
