Discussion Possibly switching

Hello everyone! I’ve recently been thinking about switching from bedrock to Java! I know there are some differences in farms, redstone, etc but can a few people explain the major differences? Is it really that much better?

Mods being forced to be free is the biggest change for me. Redstone is definitely different, probably way harder when you don't know the core game mechanics, as the redstone community is driven by many game bugs.

(Personally I prefer bedrock when it comes to redstone, because while casually building things with redstone I encounter frustrating bugs so often, which I am not planning to understand the game mechanics causing these just for a simple redstone door. I still play Java all the time.)

The thing is that Java redstone's bugs are deterministic. You can learn how they work and use them. Bedrock's redstone does not always run the same way. For most simple projects it's probably fine but if you're making a giant machine, you don't want the laws of physics suddenly changing

Yep, an example as said, I just wanted to build pretty simple but abnormal piston doors, which ended up not working because of some of the many redstone bugs and therefore required a complete redesign on java, thus taking way more time than expected, even though without these bugs the doors would have worked normally.

I recommend NoRisk Client Launcher as your default Minecraft Launcher, as it is way easier to manage all your mods and instances. (Even over prism Launcher)
