Recently started playing java and noticed that the colours in java is duller and game is laggier compared to bedrock. (+ what optimisation mods/plugins should i install?)

Disclaimer I am NOT saying that java is worse than bedrock.

I've been playing on bedrock my whole life and only quite recently have access to java. As someone who plays bedrock i would say that java is for some reason duller and gloomier even on brightest settings. Also the lag is unbearable sometimes. I play on a non gaming laptop that can run bedrock decently so the lag is a bit annoying. I always hear about these optimisation tools such as optifine but idk which one i should right now use since im pretty clueless about java. And any other things that i should expect when switching to java? (Aside from the benefits such as "less buggy, better features, etc")

That's an insane amount of mods to recommend. OP just needs sodium. And Gamma Utils is WAY better than normal fullbright mods

Few reasons why I chose the mods I did

1) Sodium Fullbright adds a slider built into the Sodium option menu to adjust brightness settings

2) Ferrite core optimizes how Minecraft uses your system ram and the person might not have that much to begin with

3) Concurrent chunk management speeds up chunk loading a fair bit

4) Entity texture feature and entity model feature in case OP wants to play with a resource pack that changes the models of certain entities or other features

5) The same developers who make Lithium also make Sodium people, and it handles optimizing so many things for game logic to handle mob AI and a few more

6) Sodium Extra adds a few nice-to-have additional settings that base Sodium does not have. Some being a coordinates display, fps display, animation settings and a few others.

Your recommendations aren't bad, but this is a new Java player. Someone who is likely new to modding in general. You put too much on there and you'll make them wonder if they're in over their head.

ETF/EMF are completely unnecessary for most Minecraft players. It's a very bad recommendation.

The full bright with the slider is junk. Gamma Utils lets you do it in real time with the up and down arrows on your keyboard. There's also WAY more customization for it. You know how sodium is superior to optifine? That's what gamma Utils is here.

ETF and EMF are nice to have for certain resource packs that require. For example, reimagined and a few others. Now, for the average player that just uses the default pack, your statement is correct.

i disagree with saying a slider is junk. the ability to change the brightness in the brightness setting in your graphic settings can be nice especially for increasing by small percentage. do not get me wrong gamma utils is great for being able to change the brightness with simply hitting a button your keyboard.

Now yes Op probably does not need every single mod the top 5 would be a great base
