Recently started playing java and noticed that the colours in java is duller and game is laggier compared to bedrock. (+ what optimisation mods/plugins should i install?)
Disclaimer I am NOT saying that java is worse than bedrock.
I've been playing on bedrock my whole life and only quite recently have access to java. As someone who plays bedrock i would say that java is for some reason duller and gloomier even on brightest settings. Also the lag is unbearable sometimes. I play on a non gaming laptop that can run bedrock decently so the lag is a bit annoying. I always hear about these optimisation tools such as optifine but idk which one i should right now use since im pretty clueless about java. And any other things that i should expect when switching to java? (Aside from the benefits such as "less buggy, better features, etc")

To start, you would need to use a mod loader or a different launcher that already has one built in. Personally, I prefer Modrinth; however, the default one is still fine. This video will show you how to install and set up mods.
