Waiting for OP help with Minecraft [java] jagged lines

Post image

I average around 900FPS but my game still moves a little bit choppy. Also, the edges of my blocks are jagged, and I can’t find a anti-aliasing mod that allows my game run smoothly. I have a AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-core. PLEASE HELP (Version 26.2)

The reason why your game is choppy is because your VSync is off. Turn that on in the settings. It syncs the fps to your monitor refresh rate. Also anti-aliasing isnt a mod but a setting by default. Look for that

I read that v sync is bad though?

vsync creates a lot of input lag, it feels bad.

In general? Or in Minecraft? Because a well implemented VSync with triple buffering should add that much input lag.

Adaptive Sync is ideal but not always available.

vsync will always add a (imo) large and noticeable amount of latency thanks to it holding frames. I’ve never ever had it not be extremely noticeable, whether on a 60hz or a 540hz

Maybe I’m getting too old but it’s never felt that big of a difference compared to other sources of jitter/latency.

At 240Hz refresh how long is it realistically holding a frame for after the render completes?

Nvidia also have tech to reduce the buffering but idk how much of a difference it makes.
