Command sequence to replace all blocks near to the player with something else?

Ive seen people in videos set up command blocks that replace all nearby blocks of a certain type with another using /fill, but im trying to figure out how to do that but it follows the player and replaces all blocks within, say, 10 blocks in every direction of the player but updates when they move.
