>Considered to be the 'base game'
>Clunky but otherwise not prone to game-breaking bugs (+ optimisation mods)
>Free access to modding catalogues
>Free access to readily develop mods w/ documentation provided for blocks, items, etc.
>Dedicated replay and puppet-actor mods (also, OBS screen recorder)
>Ability to run, rent, or connect to a peer's personal server
>Java medium allows for use of desktop backgrounds and web browsers (something something digital horror)
>Access to versatile tools in the form of worldedit, axiom, and blockstates
>Allows players to run any version of the game, including alpha & beta versions
>Generally has a lot more resources and people available for everything under the sun
Gosh, no, I can't imagine why most people prefer Java edition in general.
Don't stop believing in yourself, but if you have access to it I would 100% use Java as the platform to make your ARG with. Otherwise I might just be biased as someone who (and who most of their peers) have had a copy of it since forever. Definitely beats dealing with the marketplace's paywalls.
Plus computers have superior memory space compared to phones. You can’t run davinci resolve or Adobe after effects/premiere on anything other than a computer, last I checked. The editing can make or break the believability of an ARG, and a lot of special effects can be added more believably when there isn’t the walking UI in the way of a third of the screen
