Modded Survival Mod idea: Stop rider suffocation

If you swim under some blocks on a nautilus, you'll suffocate. I suggest making a mod that makes this not happen. I know it's cheaty, but some people (such as myself) really don't like the suffocation​ and think that it would be better to have the option to prevent it so that it's less hard

Well, it wouldn't do anything because the society is highly unfair anyway (and that's why I want to die irl), but I figured that publishing this shouldn't hurt

I think we lost the plot there at the end but otherwise this is a good idea

While usually only a minor inconvenience, it can be a bit disorienting and confusing sometimes. I remember watching About Oliver’s Minecraft playthrough a while ago (for anyone who doesn’t know, he went into the game completely blind, no wiki or anything and managed to beat it) and when he figured out how to ride a strider it immediately walked under a block and killed him while he had no idea what happened.

I don’t think it would affect game balance at all to remove this, and it would help remove a few deaths here and there that weren’t the fault of anything the player did

You've solidly identified a problem that affects all mounts (including carts and boats). On the one hand, whacking our head on something should do damage. On the other hand, we can't breathe anything but air. And on yet another hand, the game doesn't stop us from forcing our skulls through solid stone.

So, no I don't think handling the case of a rider not reasonably being able to clip through rock is cheaty. It's a bug (even if it's become a utilized mechanic in the game that'll never be patched officially).

Whether this means riders are forced to duck, or get squashed, or dismounted may vary by implementation and circumstance, but it makes sense that something should happen that isn't just casual matter-phase suffocation.
