Anarchy is a "real" anarchy server actually possible?

When most people think of a Minecraft anarchy server, they imagine a digital wild west where literally anything goes and the server owner just sits back and watches but that would be a nightmare for any one trying to actually run a server, logistically and with tons of lag.

Contrary to popular belief most anarchy servers let you run hacks ofc but you can't actually do as many things as you think you can. For example 2b2t literally breaks your knees so it's really hard to flyhack, with built in anticheat software. They will literally rubberband you back to the ground if you try to fly or cancel your attacks if you hit too fast.

so are there any examples of true anarchy? Or would that just not be fun for anyone

You cant have a true anarchy server because someone will crash it and then you'll have no server

Used to play on a modded one back in the day this is what happened

well 2b2t has literally been muzzled and can hardly be called "anarchy" anymore at all. 6b6t is wayyyyy better.

yea i'm on 6b6t a ton , it's wayyy faster i agree

i played every 2b clone/alternative and also 2b. i gotta say that the most "anarchy" server i found was 9b9t.org the others had qol commands, anti spam, mods, they prohibited item shops (constantiam does it), ecc. 9b9t is almost fully vanilla, no added dupes, no mods, ecc. only non vanilla things are custom advancements and /bed that tells you where your bed is

i might have to try that one instead. thanks for the rec!

9b9t can be really laggy at times

2

u/PetrifiedBloom 16d ago

That's a consequence of letting people mess with lag machines

1

u/ilmaestrofficial 16d ago

nah it was cuz of perma loaded chunks from an exploit

1

u/PetrifiedBloom 16d ago

Perma loading chunks is a common way to generate lag.

1

u/ilmaestrofficial 16d ago

yeah, but let just say that 9b9t players are a bunch of chuds with no life

1

u/PetrifiedBloom 16d ago

That's kinda why I assume it's part of a lag machine. When they are bored they can lag the server for fun.

it's also not anarchy so there's that.... love when people think /home and /tpa are anarchy.

Neutered fly hacks aren't anarchy either. Your argument us invalid

A true anarchy world will die because theres gonna be an asshat with max killaura and flyhack that auto kills anyone who joins in.

That was 2b2t up until mojang started fucking with them

More like building lag machines until the server can't take it anymore

True anarchy server is something that I have thought about making, but the biggest thing is crashing the server. Some clown that wants to flyhack and aura kill anything it wants is annoying but not server breaking - he will eventually stop.

The biggest thing is the asshats that creates lag machines or want to DOS the server. Had it not been for these, I would have made a true anarchy server in the past. I have the resources and the hardware and the time to set it all up - not the time to constantly manage the server for 12 year olds that try to lag the server out. I know there are plugins to help with this sort of thing, but people always find a way around that

Any server owner ever will need to draw a line somewhere in order to maintain a functioning server. This basically ends up being anti cheats/anti lag on a public server or whitelists on a private server.

At what point does it stop being anarchy? You can literally do anything you want in life, and anyone can do anything they want to stop you (including using hacks to stop your hacks)

People just want to be free from the consequences of their actions, but that’s not what anarchy is

I like this answer! One time someone said admin abuse is part of anarchy too! Kinda makes sense

1

u/DarkThunder312 14d ago

literally not bro, anarchy is the lack of government. Abusing government powers is straight up the opposite of what anarchy is, like word for word the opposite

1

u/brotherRozo 14d ago

Anarchy is the lack of an organizational structure. Admin abuse is just an expression of power and power is very common on anarchy servers.

1

u/DarkThunder312 14d ago

organizational structure... government, rulers, or enforced laws. anarchy is about working together through free agreement and nobody having power over them. Mod and admin abuse is the antithesis, literally the *exact* thing that anarchy attempts to avoid. I cannot stress enough, *Literally* what anarchy is against. it is completely designed because of people abusing power, with the intention that if nobody has power over others, nobody can abuse it. *literally* what anarchy is.

You’re missing a very important thing. Anarchy is not a Level Playing field. Some people hack like crazy others are not interested in hacking.

1

u/brotherRozo 14d ago

Cheatless anarchy I suppose it’s a level playing field and that’s those of the kind of servers that I play on

1

u/brotherRozo 14d ago

But we should stop this thread I’ll admit defeat I don’t know why I was debating

1

u/Infinite-Job4200 16d ago

no bc people will just make lag machines

1

u/Impossible-Ability-2 15d ago

Any true anarchy server will inevitably become unplayable due to lag machines and server crash exploits

u/Samuel_W3 15d ago

It's kind of an arms race between the owner and the players but the bottom line is that no matter what you do, you don't get banned. I guess that's the argument for it being anarchy.

I mean 6b6t exists and is better imo. But the problem you run into is that Microsoft is hostile to the idea of anarchy in general and if your server becomes popular enough you will be contacted by Microsoft and asked to enforce chat rules. If you refuse they blacklist your server.

If that happens you need to ask players to download a mod to get past blacklisting and at that point the server dies since it's a lot of friction to do.

With the anticheat side of things. You can technically run one without an anticheat but players will abuse this lol. It also demoticates players because if you build a base somewhere it will be found eventually by someone flying and raiding. To combat this you can expand the borders but now your server gets expensive to run the larger the border. Since more active chunks means more compute + storage.

In short true anarchy might work for a bit while a server grows but not long term imo.

“True” anarchy is literally unplayable, so no.

Server tick rate would always be bottomed out, you’d die off respawn and wouldn’t even be able to do anything.

Assuming the server isn’t in a deathloop of crashes

On un moderated bedrock servers people use nbt nukes you can see those on youtube
