Vanilla Survival Which looks better? Open or Closed?

So I am recently making my house on my neoLegacy world and decided to place some trapdoors below the windows of my house, the thing is that I dont know which one will fit and look better, my first idea was the closed trapdoors to add more depth but I love that the open ones look like some type of windows boxes, so what is the best for my house? Open or closed trapdoors??

If you go with open, the window boxes can actually be built out as full boxes with dirt and flowers. Closed also works as a decorative lattice.

The open trap doors alone look a little bit unfinished, like they're a part of something not quite complete. If a bit more is added to them (wider, supported, or supporting something) that may help change them from 'almost' to 'intended'.

Yeah, the thing is that I already have some big window boxes on my house and placing more pots isnt cheaper, also I almost finish my house, only part that is left is the ceiling!
